Anleitung PS-WS 960-125_SPK1
Press the spindle lock (1). Turn the spindle by
hand until it engages.
Hold the spindle lock; tighten the outer flange (9)
using the supplied flange wrench (10).
Operate the tool with no load for around 30
seconds. Check again that the disk is secure.
7. OPERATING THE ANGLE GRINDER

7.1 Practical tips

Always fit the guard so that the largest possible
part of the exposed disk is pointing away from
you.
Grinding metal: Prepare yourself for a shower of
sparks as soon as the disk makes contact with
the metal.
Only apply light pressure and no lateral pressu-
re on the cutting disk. Check the direction in
which the disk is rotating. Avoid shocks on the
workpiece.
Be careful when machining uneven surfaces
with the angle grinder ; the tool may become
more difficult to handle in this case.
7.2 ON/OFF switch (Figure 7)
The ON/OFF switch (4) has a locking switch (5)
to prevent the tool being started by accident.
Hold the angle grinder with one hand on the
handle and the other hand on the side handle
(Figure 8).
Switch on the angle grinder
Push the locking switch (5) forwards, then press
the ON/OFF switch (4)
-> the angle grinder will start
Wait until the machine has reached its top speed.
You can then position the angle grinder on the
workpiece and machine it.
Perfect working angle of the disk to the work-
piece
Grinding: 15-30° / Sanding: 10 – 15°
These angles will produce perfect results and
prevent overloading the tool.
Switch off the angle grinder
Release the ON/OFF switch (4)
-> the angle grinder will stop
Do not put the tool down until it has reached a
complete standstill. Parts of the tool could other-
wise become caught in the surface and result in
a loss of control and serious injuries.

7.3 Cleaning the angle grinder
Remove chips and dust from the tool after use (see
section entitled 'Cleaning').
7.4 Do not overload the angle grinder
An overload will result in lower speeds and power.
The motor on your angle grinder can also be dam-
aged if it is overloaded. This can be created by exert-
ing excessive pressure over a lengthy period of time.
Therefore you should not attempt to increase the
working speed by exerting pressure on your angle
grinder. The grinding disks will be more effective if
you only exert light pressure on the angle grinder;
this will also mean that the grinding speed will not
fall. If you switch off the angle grinder whilst it is
under a load, you will reduce the service life of the
control switch. If the tool becomes very hot, allow it to
run for two to three minutes with no load to cool the
motor to its normal working temperature.
7.5 Tips
Machining soft metals: The disk can easily
decay when you machine aluminum and other
soft metals. In this case you must replace the
disk immediately.
Grinding out recesses and grooves: Ensure
that you hold the angle grinder still when grinding
out recesses, etc. This will prevent the workpiece
rupturing.
Cutting thin sheet metal: Place the tool on the
sheet with care. Take the angle grinder off the
sheet immediately when you have cut it so as to
prevent any damage.
8. CLEANING, MAINTENANCE AND
ORDERING REPLACEMENT PARTS
Always pull out the mains power plug before starting
any cleaning work.
8.1 Cleaning
Clean the tool at regular intervals (remove all
dust, chips, splinters, etc.)
Keep all safety devices, air vents and the motor
housing free of dirt and dust as far as possible.
Wipe the equipment with a clean cloth or blow it
with compressed air at low pressure.
We recommend that you clean the tool immedia-
tely after you use it.
Excessive accumulations of metal dust may
result in electric power being conducted from the
internal parts to exposed metal parts.
