PURPOSE OF THE FLAT-RATE SCHEDULE
This flat-rate schedule has been prepared as a useful guide to help dealers and distributors in executing
servicing jobs effectively at fair prices. It provides for the standard operation times needed to do individual
servicing jobs. Please make full use of this schedule when charging for Warranty Adjustments or repair works
executed, or when estimating the costs required for service works.
USING THE FLAT-RATE SCHEDULE
To help dealers to identify correctly the details of service works to be done, the schedule is edited to include
exploded illustrations indicating clearly the points to service and the schedule of standard operation times.
The exploded illustrations are provided with emphasis on RTV900. The time schedule is completed to be
readily understandable with the three headings: JOB CODE NUMBER, DESCRIPTION and STANDARD
OPERATION TIME.
1) EXPLODED ILLUSTRATION
Any of the following method is used to indicate the point to service;
(1) Indicating the point by using a leading line.
(2) Indicating the range of servicing by using the marking.
(3) Indicating the range of servicing by using a box of dotted line.
Identify the points or ranges to be serviced with any of these indications and select appropriate procedure for
the servicing with the relevant JOB CODE NUMBER.
2) JOB CODE NUMBER
In this flat-rate schedule, job code numbers are used as the service work control codes. Use these
numbers when filling out the Warranty Adjustment Request form.
3) DESCRIPTION
1. Each of the job descriptions listed covers all the works to be performed, from starting the servicing job to
the completion of the service work when the unit is fully restored to the operating condition.
This also includes incidental works such as cleaning, adjustment and inspection of the parts involved.
2. When the service work is to be done at two or more points, an item covering those points to service ( like
"STARTER ASSY. O.H." for example ) is to be selected, by referring to the exploded illustrations
provided. Do not try to look up individual items and combine them, which will end up in unnecessary waste
of time for double works.
4) STANDARD OPERATION TIME
This is listed in one tenth of an hour.
The time schedule has based on:
1. Service done by a mechanic with average ability and experience.
2. Use of special tools and mechanic's hand tools.
3. Use of adequate repair facilities with flat concrete floor and hoist.
The listed time includes:
1. Repair diagnosis time.
2. The time required to obtain necessary parts and tools.
3. The time required to clean and inspect internal parts during disassembly and assembly.
The listed time does not include:
1. The time required to clean and apply touch-up painting to the external outfits and implements not
specifically referred to in this flat rate schedule, except for those jobs that must meet WASH, CLEAN &
PAINT requirements.
2. Removal and reinstallation of optional equipment / implements and other attachments which are not
mentioned in this flat-rate schedule.
3. Removal and reinstallation of parts that have been fit at distributor's or dealer's option.
* IMPORTANT
The standard operation time for jobs requiring two people is listed as the jobs done by one person.
Therefore, the time should not be multiplied by 2.
