The coefficient a is equal to a voltage and coefficient τ has the units of time.

The coefficient a is noticeably equal to the voltage E provided by the
generator.
The value of the coefficient τ depends on the value of the resistance R: it
varies proportionally with R.
Influence of the capacitance of the capacitor
We again combine on the same screen the two curves uc(t) corresponding to
the two pairs (C=100 µF, R=100 Ω): curve u4(t) and (C=1000 µF, R=100 Ω):
curve u6(t).
