To reduce the risk of injury or damage, read and follow the safety
precautions when setting up, using and maintaining your robot.
GENERAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
• Retain the safety and operating instructions for future reference.
• Read all safety and operating instructions before operating your robot.
• Heed all warnings on your robot, battery, battery charger, and in the
Safety and Compliance Information.
• Follow all operating and use instructions.
INSTRUCTIONS
• POWER ON - Place the robot onto its dock to turn it on.
• STANDBY/SLEEP MODE - Press and hold the robot's center button for 7
seconds until its light turns off.
• CHARGING - Place the robot onto its dock to charge. While the robot is
charging, its light will spin with a bright white light. When the robot is fully
charged, its light will display a dimmer, solid white light.
• ROS 2 AND BLUETOOTH® MODES - When the robot is powered on, its
light will: (a) glow blue while disconnected in Bluetooth mode, (b) turn
off while connected in Bluetooth mode, or (c) glow white while in ROS 2
mode. To switch modes, remove the robot's faceplate and toggle the
switch that displays the Bluetooth and USB icons.
• FACEPLATE REMOVAL - Place one thumb on each of the faceplate's two
ridged tabs. Rotate the faceplate counter-clockwise until you feel it click
out of position, then lift the faceplate up to remove it.
• FACEPLATE REPLACEMENT - Lower the faceplate onto the robot at the
same angle as when you removed it. Place one thumb on each of the
faceplate's two ridged tabs and rotate the faceplate clockwise until you
feel it click into its final position.
• CARGO BAY REMOVAL/REPLACEMENT - Pull the handle to release the
cargo bay, then slide it out. To replace the cargo bay, push it into the
robot until you hear a click.
USAGE, CARE and CLEANING
• This robot is for indoor use on hard surface floors only.
• This robot is not a toy. Do not sit or stand on this device. Small children
and pets should be supervised when the robot is operating.
• This robot has electrical parts. Do not submerge it in water. Clean with a
cloth dampened with water only.
• Do not use this device to pick up anything that is burning or smoking.
• Do not use this device to pick up large debris, bleach, paint, or other
chemicals.
• Before using this robot, remove fragile objects from the project area,
including objects on furniture that can fall if the furniture is pushed or
bumped.
• Move any power cords as well as cords for blinds and curtains out of the
way to reduce the risk of objects being pulled down.
• If the room contains a balcony, a physical barrier should be used to
prevent access to the balcony and ensure safe operation.
• Operate and store this robot in room temperature environments only.
• Children should be supervised to ensure they do not play with this
robot. Cleaning and maintenance should not be performed by children
without supervision.
• Securely mount attachments to the faceplate. Do not rest objects on top
of this robot.
• Do not operate this robot in areas with exposed electrical outlets in the
floor.
This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with

reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience
and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction
concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the
appliance.
BATTERY and CHARGING
• Before every use, check the battery pack for any sign of damage or
leakage. Do not charge damaged or leaking battery packs.
• Charge indoors only.
• Only use the included battery charger to charge the iRobot battery.
• Charge using a standard outlet only. Product may not be used with any
type of power converter. Use of other power converters will immediately
void the warranty.
• Please ensure voltage rating for enclosed battery charger matches
standard outlet voltage.
• Never handle the battery charger with wet hands.
• Only use rechargeable battery packs with the correct specifications
supplied with your robot by iRobot.
• For replacement battery pack, visit www.irobot.com.
• Always charge and remove the battery from your robot before long-term
storage or transportation.
• Always remove battery pack before cleaning your robot.
• Keep battery pack clean and dry. Wipe the cell or battery terminals with
a clean dry cloth if they become dirty.
• Do not crush, dismantle, or shred battery packs.
• Do not subject cells or batteries to mechanical shock.
• Do not heat the battery pack or place the battery pack near any heat
source.
• Do not store in direct sunlight.
• Do not incinerate the battery pack.
• Do not short-circuit the battery pack.
• Do not submerge the battery pack in any liquid.
• The battery pack must be removed from the robot before disposal.
• When disposing of the battery pack, contact your local or regional
waste authority for more information on collection, reuse, and recycling
programs.
• In the event of cell leaking, do not allow the liquid to come into contact
with the skin or eyes. If contact has been made, wash the affected area
with copious amounts of water and seek medical advice.

• This device complies with part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject
to the following two conditions: (1) This device may not cause harmful
interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference received,
including interference that may cause undesired operation.
• Changes or modifications not expressly approved by iRobot
Corporation could void the user's authority to operate the equipment.
• This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for
a Class B digital device, pursuant to part 15 of the FCC Rules. These
limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful
interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses
and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used
in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to
radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference
to radio communication will not occur in a particular installation. If
this equipment does cause harmful in terference to radio or television
reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and
on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or

- Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna.

• This device contains a license-exempt transmitter/receiver that complies
with Innovation, Science and Economic Development (ISED) Canada's
license-exempt RSS(s). Operation is subject to the following two
conditions: 1) This device may not cause interference, and 2) this device
must accept any interference, including interference that may cause
undesired operation of the device.
• Under Industry Canada regulations, this radio transmitter may only
operate using an antenna of a type and maximum (or lesser) gain

• This robot, model STEMB-Y1, incorporates the dual radio modules with
model(s): iRobot model AXF-Y1 and Laird model BT850.
• This robot, model STEMB-Y1 operates in the WLAN 2.4 GHz band. The 2.4
GHz band is limited to operate between 2412 MHz and 2472 MHz with a
maximum EIRP output power of 19.1 dBm (81.28 mW) at 2442 MHz.
• This symbol on the battery indicates that the battery must not be
disposed of with unsorted common municipal waste, use separate
collection facilities. As the end-user, it is your responsibility to dispose of
the end-of-life battery in your appliance in an environmentally sensitive
manner as follows: (1) return it to the distributor/dealer from whom you
purchased the product; or (2) deposit it in a designated collection point.
• Disposing of this product correctly will help save valuable resources
and prevent any potential negative effects on human health and the

LIMITED WARRANTY TO ORIGINAL
PURCHASER
IF PURCHASED IN THE UNITED STATES, CANADA, AUSTRALIA, OR NEW

ZEALAND:
NOTE: This Limited Warranty to Original Purchaser (this "Limited Warranty")
does not affect your statutory rights under the laws relating to the sale of
consumer products.
This Create® 3 product (this "Product"), as supplied and distributed
by iRobot Corporation ("iRobot", "We", "Our", "Us") and delivered as
manufactured in the carton to the original purchaser ("you", "your"), is
warranted by iRobot against manufacturing defects in materials and
workmanship for the qualifying limited warranty period as follows:
1. Due to the unique nature of this Product, you intend to dismantle, adjust,
alter, and affect this Product in ways which cannot be fully anticipated
by us. This Product's Limited Warranty begins on the original date
of purchase, is valid and enforceable only on Products purchased
and used in the United States of America, Canada, Australia or New
Zealand and does not include installation, removal, or reinstallation.
We will not warrant the Product beyond the manufacturing defects and
workmanship experienced when first encountering this product upon
delivery in the original packaging. We do not warrant uninterrupted or
error-free operation of the Product. This Product includes a battery (the
"Battery"), which shall be warranted to be in good working order for
a period of six (6) months from the date of purchase. If the Product or
the Battery fails to meet the applicable warranty set forth herein to our
reasonable satisfaction, we will repair or replace this Product and/or
Battery within a commercially reasonable time, at our option and at no
charge, as described below.
You may register your Product in order to receive Product-related
information and enjoy expedited support from iRobot Customer Care.
Failure to register your Product will not diminish your warranty rights.
2. If you wish to make a warranty claim, you must contact iRobot for
problem determination and service procedures. To obtain warranty
service, support, or other information, please visit our website at www.
irobot.com or call 877-855-8593. Warranty repairs must be performed
by iRobot Corporation's authorized service center. When you contact
iRobot, please have the following ready: (1) your Product serial number,
and (2) your original proof of purchase that shows the date of purchase
and full details of the Product. Our colleagues will advise you of the
process involved in making a claim. Any claim under this Limited
Warranty is subject to you notifying us of the alleged defect within a
reasonable time of it coming to your attention and, in any case, by no
later than the expiry of the applicable warranty period described in
Section 1.
3. If a claim is received within the applicable warranty period and the
Product and/or Battery is found to have failed under the applicable
warranty we shall, at our option:
- Repair the Product and/or Battery;
- Exchange the Product and/or Battery with a product and/or battery
that is new or which has been manufactured from new or serviceable
used parts and is at least functionally equivalent to the original
Product and/or Battery; or
- Exchange the Product and/or Battery with a product and/or battery
that is a new and upgraded model which has at least equivalent or
upgraded function to the original Product and/or Battery.
Replacement or repaired Products and/or Batteries, as applicable, will
be returned to you as soon as commercially practicable. All replaced
parts, Products, and/or Batteries become our property and must be
returned to iRobot. If the Product and/or Battery is found not to be
covered by this Limited Warranty, we (and our authorized service
companies) reserve the right to charge a handling fee. When repairing
or replacing a Product or Battery, we may use products or parts that are
new, equivalent to new, or re-conditioned.
As far as applicable laws permit, the applicable warranty period will
not be extended, renewed, or otherwise affected due to subsequent
exchange, resale, repair, or replacement of the Product and/or Battery.
However, Products repaired or replaced during the applicable warranty
period will be warranted for the remainder of the original warranty
period (if any). Batteries repaired or replaced during the applicable
warranty period will be warranted for the remainder of the original
warranty period or for ninety (90) days from the date of repair or
replacement, whichever is longer.
4. This Limited Warranty covers manufacturing defects in materials and
workmanship in the Product encountered upon purchase directly from
iRobot or an iRobot authorized seller/dealer/reseller. Unless agreed
in writing, this Limited Warranty will not apply if the defect(s) relate to:
normal wear and tear (including, without limitation, wear and tear of
the Battery, if applicable); damage which occurs in shipment or due
to a failure to adequately package the Product for transportation;
applications or uses for which this Product was not intended; failures or
