5 Assembly
5.1 Installation position
With regard to the installation position, pay attention to the arrow showing the flow direction. When
mounting the globe valve in a horizontal pipeline, a vertical position of the operating mechanism or an
inclination of up to 45° from the vertical is recommended. In the case of globe valves with bellows at the
bottom (welded, two-part top tube), an installation position 180° from the vertical is permitted.
5.2 Fitting Notice
Use suitable tools.

Allen keys of sizes 5, 6 and 8;

Open-ended spanners;

Torque wrench;

Welding machine;

Oxygen-tested HD lubricant for oxygen-bearing globe valves and systems

Recommendation: "Klüberalfa YV93-302" from company "Klüber Lubrication" and "Fomblin®
M60" from company "Solvay"
Clean tools before the mounting.

Use suitable transport and lifting equipment for the mounting.

Open the packaging only directly before the mounting. Free of oil and grease for oxygen (O

Globe valves for oxygen are permanently marked with "O
Take note of the HEROSE information sheet "O
Only install the globe valve if the maximum operating pressure and operating conditions of the

plant correspond to the valving marking on the globe valve.
Remove protective caps or covers before mounting.

Check the globe valve for dirt and damage.

DO NOT install damaged or dirty globe valves.
Avoid damaging the body end.

The sealing surfaces must remain clean and intact.
Seal the globe valve with suitable seals.

No sealant (sealing tape, liquid sealing tape) may enter the globe valves.
Respect the suitability for use with O
Connect pipelines in a force-free and torque-free manner.

Stress-free mounting.
In order to ensure trouble-free operation, no impermissible static, thermal or dynamic stresses

may be transmitted to the globe valve. Observe reaction forces.
Temperature-dependent changes in length in the pipework system must be compensated with

expansion joints.
The globe valve is supported by the pipework system.

The globe valve must be protected against dirt and damage during construction work.

Check the leak-tightness.

