8. Installation in a ship model
For installation in a ship model, you need a
heat-resistant support, since the base plate of
the system under the burner becomes very
hot. We recommend the insulating plate, order
no. 22061, which can be cut to the desired

The height of the steam engine may need to
be adjusted to the height of the prop shaft of
the boat using a fixed base plate or with
supports at the 4 screw holes of the base
plate. For the connection of the crankshaft to
the prop shaft, a corresponding articulated
coupling is required. The crankshaft has a
diameter of 4 mm. The prop shafts of this size
are also usually 4 mm. We recommend our
drive coupling, order no. 22062, which
compensates for a small height as well as
angular offset.
If you do not want to pollute your model with a
high-standing exhaust pipe, we recommend
an exhaust steam condenser. Order no.
22063, which absorbs the mixture of
condensed steam and oil. It must be emptied
before each run. For emptying, the lid with
funnel can easily be and the condensate can
be pulled out with a syringe.
