EST 250 EASY
grass trimmer.
Make a loop with the power cable and push it through
ƒ
the square hole under the grip of the trigger.
Place the end of the loop round the cable hook
ƒ
and ensure it is pulled firmly enough to prevent it
coming loose while operating the grass grimmer.
TRIMMING GRASS
When you are ready to use the grass trimmer, plug
ƒ
the power cable into a mains outlet.
Hold the grass trimmer in the operating position
ƒ
with both hands and switch on by pressing the
On/Off trigger. To switch off, release the On/Off
trigger.
Stand upright when trimming, do not lean for-
ƒ
ward and pay attention to posture. Keep both feet
apart to help retain your balance.
Hold the cutting head just above the ground at an
ƒ
angle of approximately 30°.
Move the trimmer with a slow regular arc from
ƒ
left to right before moving it back to the start-
ing position before trimming the next area.
Use the edge of the guard as a guide when cutting
ƒ
near fences and walls, etc. Moving the grass trim-
mer in a backwards direction will avoid damage.
Do not overload the grass trimmer. Cut in small
sections which will greatly improve efficiency by
keeping the grass trimmer running at high speed.

CUTTING LINE

FEEDING MORE LINE
The trimming head is equipped with a bumper to re-
f
lease and cut the trimming line. To release more line,
tap the bumper on a firm surface while running and
the spool will release fresh trimming line.
A new length of line will feed out automatically.
Let the grass trimmer run for a few seconds without
f
touching the working area to allow the blade fixed in
the guard to cut the line after it lengthens.
REPLACING THE CUTTING LINE
Remove the spool (D)
Firmly squeeze the two spool cover release but-
ƒ
tons in.
This releases the spool cover.
Remove the cover.
ƒ
Lift out the spool.
ƒ
Remove any remaining nylon cutting line from the
ƒ
spool.
Fit the new line (E)
Cut a replacement nylon line of approximate
ƒ
length 8 m.
Fold the replacement cutting line in half and hook
ƒ
it into the slot in the centre divider of the spool.
Wind the cutting line onto the two sections of the
ƒ
spool, turning the spool in the direction of the ar-
row.
NOTE: One line end can be hooked into the slots
or holes in the edges of the spool to prevent it
from unravelling while you wind the other.
Continue until all the line is wound smoothly onto
ƒ
the spool.
Unhook the line from the slots in the spool ends
ƒ
and thread the ends of the cutting line through
the guide holes in the spool cover with about
120mm visible length.
Press the spool down and replace the spool cover,
ƒ
pressing it into position until the release buttons
click into place.
