SENSOR POSITIONING
Sensor sleeves are available on the buffer tank for the insertion of the sensor (to regulate the
system). Where E-sockets are not used via these, a 11/2" external thread to 1/2" internal thread
reducer can be fitter with any immersion or sensor sleeve.
COMMISSIONING
The installation and commissioning should be carried out only by approved installation companies,
which take responsibility for using proper equipment.
PREPARATIONS
*All the connections, including those which are assembled at the factory (E-socket, flange, anode,
etc.), must be inspected when commissioning for leaks and sealed again if any leak is found (if
necessary drain the buffer tank, disassemble and re-seal). * This is not a guarantee, warranty or
product liability. Please have a filling hose ready.
1. Filling
Connect the buffer tank via the filling hose to a water line. Flush all pipes and the buffer tank, then
drain the flushing water. Now, the buffer tank is filled again with water until water flows from the
warm water tap without bubbles. This process may take 15–30 minutes, depending on the size and
water flow. Then close the water tap. Then continue to fill the buffer tank until the operating pres-
sure is reached. Smooth tube heat exchangers should be rinsed properly prior to initial installation
(recommendation: install a dirt filter).
2. Leak Test
Water heaters should be checked for leaks before commissioning. As soon as possible after the
cold water pressure test it is necessary to test whether the system remains sealed at the highest
temperature by heating to the maximum operating temperature. Where there is a drop in pressure
a leak in the system must be assumed.

CORROSION PROTECTION

All surfaces of the drinking water buffer tank, which come into contact with service water, must be
secured by a quality glass enamel according to DVGW 511 and DIN 4753. In addition, they must be
equipped with a protection anode according to DIN 4753.
When not using a bare-tube heat exchanger when operating the water tank, this must be filled
with an appropriate fire retardant (e.g. a glycol mix). The buffer tank must not be closed on both
sides (due to pressure expansion) or be connected with the heating circuit heat exchanger in series.
