    Deckhand 40. The base extrusion or mounting bracket of the trolling motors may vary. Please note the appearance of the applicable trolling motors and mounting brackets. For a complete list of motors compatible with the MKA-32, please refer to the website at minnkotamotors.com.
  • Page 3 INSTALLATION Opening the Bracket ITEM(S) NEEDED #A x 1 #B x 1 Remove the Pin and swing open the Cam Lever. Top Plate Top Plate Assembly Assembly Remove the Top Plate Assembly (Assembly #A) from the Bottom Plate Assembly (Assembly #B) by sliding the Top Plate away from the Cam Lever.
  • Page 4 For applicable motors, remove the four sideplate screws using a #3 Phillips screwdriver. Two of these screws will be located on each side of the mount. Remove the Right Sideplate. Swing the Left Sideplate out and away from the Base Extrusion. Removing the sideplates exposes the Mounting Holes in the Base Extrusion.

  • Page 6 Installing the Top Plate to an Ulterra WARNING Power Cables Power Cables Make sure that the Power Cables from the battery are disconnected, or that the breaker, if equipped, is “off.” NOTICE: A motor may weigh up to 65lbs. We recommend having a second person help with the installation.
  • Page 7 NOTICE: The Stainless Steel Screws (Item #18) that came with the Quick Release Bracket are not used when installing the MKA-32 to an Ulterra. Instead, the Clipped Washers (#2201725) and Hex Head Hex Head Bolt Bolt Hex Head Bolts (#2203431) included in the mounting hardware that came with the Ulterra motor should be used.
  • Page 8 Place the hardware on the Damper side of the mount into the Mounting Holes to secure the Base Extrusion. Install the motor with the Hex Head Bolts (#2203431) and Clipped Washers (#2201725). Orientate the Clipped Washers so that the flat side of the washer is towards the Base Extrusion.
  • Page 9 Make sure that the motor will not encounter any obstructions when sliding the motor on and off the MKA-32. The exact placement of the motor and MKA- 32 when mounting may vary depending on the boat, boat deck, and which base extrusion the quick release bracket is being mounted to.
  • Page 10 Mark the side edges and rear of the Bottom Plate on Outboard Outboard the bow of the boat. Bow of Bow of Boat Boat Remove the Pin and unlatch the Cam Lever to remove the Top Plate and Motor from the Bottom Plate. NOTICE: The mounting surface for the Bottom Plate must be completely flat.
