Operation
Connecting the appliance
1. Please check whether the mains voltage corresponds to the voltage specified on the type
plate. The rating plate is on the inside of one arm of the appliance.
2. Insert the mains plug in a power socket.
Switching on
• Image A: place the hot Wella Professionals Style on a heat-resistant surface.
• To switch the appliance on, press the ON/OFF switch until you hear a beep and the tem-
perature display begins to light up. If you do not change the setting, the appliance heats
up to the temperature last selected.
Setting the temperature
:
• Image B
use the HI and LO buttons to set the desired temperature in 10 °C steps
between 100 °C and 200 °C.
– Every time you press the HI button, the temperature is increased by 10 °C.
– Every time you press the LO button, the temperature is reduced by 10 °C.
In the temperature display, each LED corresponds to a temperature step of 10 °C. The LED
of the set temperature flashes until the heating plates have heated up or cooled down to the
set temperature. An acoustic signal indicates that the set temperature has been reached.
The LEDs which light up continuously show the current temperature of the heating plates.
Example 1 (Image C):
The heating plates have a temperature of 120 °C. The appliance heats up to the set temper-
ature of 170 °C.
Example 2 (Image D):
The appliance has reached the set temperature of 170 °C.
Example 3 (Image E):
The heating plates have a temperature of 170 °C. The appliance cools down to the set tem-
perature of 130 °C.
Switching off
• Switch off the appliance after every use. To switch the appliance off, press the ON/OFF
switch until you hear an acoustic signal and the temperature display goes off.
• After use, pull out the mains plug.
Automatic shut-off function
If no button has been pressed on the appliance for approximately 20 to 25 minutes, the ap-
pliance switches off automatically. This is a safety function. You can recognise the automatic
shut-off function because the appliance beeps at short intervals and the 100 °C LED flashes.
After approximately 10 minutes the beep stops, but the LED continues to flash.
– Turn the appliance off with the ON/OFF switch and then pull out the mains plug.
– If you would like to continue working, press any button once briefly in order to switch the
appliance on again.

Styling
CAUTION: use on dried hair only.
Please note that fine/porous hair reacts especially fast to treatment.
3.1
The right temperature – the best protection for your hair
CAUTION: note that only a few types of hair require the highest temperature setting.
Always use the lowest temperature necessary for good styling results.
Start with the lowest temperature recommended for the hair structure you want to treat. Only
if straightening is taking a very long time should you increase the temperature, and then only
in small steps.
You can damage the hair by using too high a temperature, keeping the appliance in contact
with the hair for too long or straightening it too frequently. You should not treat the same
section more than once, especially at high temperatures. Risk of hair breakage!
The following table shows you what temperatures we recommend for different hair struc-
tures:
Hair structure
bleached, coloured lighter
fine, porous, coloured
normal (not treated with chemicals)
strong, resistant (not treated with chemicals)
3.2
Basic procedure – Straightening
1. Wash hair, dry and comb well.
2. Use the HI and LO buttons to set the lowest possible temperature that is recommended
for the hair structure to be treated.
3. Separate a strand of the desired thickness and comb it straight. (The thinner the strand,
the greater the styling effect.)
4. Image F: place the root zone of the strand between the heating plates.
5. Image G: now slide the Wella Professionals Style steadily from the root of the hair strand
to the end. Never stay longer than 2 seconds in one position.
6. Repeat steps 3. to 5. with the remaining strands.
7. Before finishing, allow the hair to cool briefly.
