POMPE NCC OU BALNEO
CCS OR BALNEO PUMP
The installation of a protection cabinet is compulsory, it is to include:
a/ a general circuit breaker,
b/ a short circuit protection device,
c/ a high sensitivity differential switch, 30 mA.
The electrical characteristics of the protection devices and their regulation shall match the characteristics of the motors to
be protected and meet the « as designed operating conditions and the manufacturer's instructions (Please see ID plate).
* On all three-phase motors, the winding connectors must be correctly located (Please see on the pump).
* The inlet and outlet tightness of the wires on the terminal box is to be ensured by one gland.
* The connections of the wires to the motor terminals is to be carried out through crimped shoes.
6. STARTING UP
Before switching on the equipment, make sure that the following operations are/have been performed:
Check that the electrical connections are correct
Check manually that the pump is not seized.
6.1 Gravity feed pump
ATTENTION: The pump must not operate in empty conditions.
With the pump under the water level, fill it by opening slowly the discharge valve and keeping the suction valve open.
6.2 Pump installed in suction configuration
A backflow preventer is to be installed at the base of the suction side. This pump is not of the self-priming type. Fill up the
suction casing. Open the discharge valve.
6.3 Rotating direction
ATTENTION: Check that the motor shaft rotates freely. Do not start if it is « stuck ». If it is blocked, use a screw driver which
you place in the groove at the end of the shaft on fan side and turn manually (please see on the fan cover).
For three phase motors, start the motor for a few seconds and check that the rotating direction is the same as indicated by
the arrow on the fan cover. If it is not the case, invert the two wires.
ATTENTION: Check that the motor does not exceed the amps indicated on the ID plate, otherwise set the valve located on
discharge side. The pump should not run with a closed valve or with lack of water on suction side.
7. MAINTENANCE AND PRESERVATION
Always disconnect the electrical feed before any handling operation.
ATTENTION: If the pump is not to run for a long time, or if there is some risk of low temperature, the pump barrel must be
emptied. Unscrew the drain plug.
Before starting the pump, fit the plug with its « O » ring. Fill the pump with water and check with a screw diver that the
motor is not seized. If the shaft is seized, call a qualified technician. If the motor is flooded do not start it, but call an
electrician.
8. REMOVAL
8.1 Attention
Before any operation, all the valves must be closed. Once you have checked that all the valves are closed:
• Disconnect the general circuit breaker and the differential switch (operation to be performed by a specialist).
• Pull the feed cables out of the terminal box.
• Empty the pump through the drain plug hole.
