STEP 1. MOUNT THE ENCLOSURE.
1. Mount the enclosure using wall fasteners: four screws for a
3/16-in (4.5-mm) hole.
2. Install wiring using electrical conduit or enclosed gland
fittings, per local practice. The gray glands supplied can be
used with wiring diameters of 0.25–0.5 in (8–13 mm).
3. Install plugs provided in any holes that are not used.
STEP 2. INSTALL RTD, POWER, AND CONTROL WIRING (REQUIRES A DEDICATED 120/240-VAC CIRCUIT).
WARNING: Shock Hazard. All wiring must be done with the
power turned off at the breaker panel
1. Connect the power wiring to terminals as indicated. Connect
all ground leads to the ground lug.
Note: There is no main power switch in the controller. To
deactivate power to the unit, shut off power at circuit breaker
panel or disconnect switch.
2. Use the black gland fitting with the RTD supplied. Connect
the three-wire RTD connection to the terminals marked RTD
1. Note the color coding shown in Figure 2.
3. Mount the RTD sensor in a position exposed to normal
weather conditions but shielded from direct sunlight. The
RTD sensor should not be located against surfaces that
are heated from within or may be heated by sunlight. If the
RAYSTAT-ECO-01 is located outside, the ambient RTD may
be mounted directly to the bottom of the panel using the
included fitting. Make sure at least 1 in (25 mm) of the
RTD sheath extends beyond the gland fitting.
Attach the RTD wiring to the RTD 1 terminal as indicated.
Note: If the RTD is located remotely from the unit, use RTD
extension wire (available from nVent).

4. Connect the relay contacts:
• The CONTROL relay connects to the heat-tracing panel
contactor.
• The ALARM relay is used to activate a remote alarm. It will
switch in the event of power loss, RTD failure, or temper-ature
alarm. The alarm condition is automatically cleared when the
fault is corrected. When no fault exists, the switch is forced
into the "Normally opened" (NO) position.
