Maintenance
Switch the unit off at the main switch and unplug the power cord before any maintenance
procedure. The unit may be under pressure. Escaping hot water or vapour are hazardous.
Therefore:
Cool the unit/consumer temperature control circuit before removing hoses.
4.1 Periodic checks and maintenance procedures
To make the maintenance procedures easier, the RT 50 control system is equipped with a service-interval display. We
recommend entering the corresponding service interval (e.g. 2000 hours). For programming, see RT50 Programming
Instructions, Section 3.9.
Please note that the following information is for 8 hours of operation daily. For operations with more than one shift,
these checks and maintenance procedures shall be performed in correspondingly shorter intervals. Defective compo-
nents shall be repaired or replaced immediately.
Checks and maintenance procedures shall be performed by qualified personnel.
Maintenance procedures on the electrical equipment shall be performed by a qualified electrician.
Unplug the power cord before changing the RT50 control system.
From time to time, blow out the safety valve by means of lifting (→ Service).
When working with magnetic drive pumps, be aware of dangers from magnetic fields:
– People with pacemakers and/or implanted metal components must maintain sufficient
distance from the unit, or should not perform maintenance procedures on the pump.
– When pushing the magnetic drive together, hold the motor such that fingers cannot be
trapped as a result of magnetic strength.
– Maintain the necessary distance from computers, diskettes, credit cards, electrical
watches, etc.
4.1.1 Daily checks/maintenance procedures
1
Check the temperature control circuit (unit, connecting hoses, consumer, etc.) for leaks. Fix any leaks immediately.
4.1.2 Monthly checks/maintenance procedures
1
Check the pump's cooling air inlet opening for blockage. Clean the unit from the inside out using compressed air.
2
Clean the filter.
