IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Read through all the instructions before
starting to use the appliance. Keep this
manual in a safe place for future reference.
These instructions are also available on our

• This appliance must only be operated as
instructed in this user manual.
• This appliance can be used by children
aged from 8 years and above and persons
with reduced physical, sensory or mental
capabilities or lack of experience and
knowledge if they have been given
supervision or instruction concerning use of
the appliance in a safe way and understand
the hazards involved. Children shall not
play with the appliance. Cleaning and user
maintenance shall not be made by children
without supervision.
• Children of less than 3 years should be kept
away unless continuously supervised.
• Children aged from 3 years and less than 8
years shall only switch on/off the appliance
provided that it has been placed or installed
in its intended normal operating position
and they have been given supervision or
instruction concerning use of the appliance
in a safe way and understand the hazards
involved. Children aged from 3 years and
less than 8 years shall not plug in, regulate
and clean the appliance or perform user
maintenance.

• CAUTION — Some parts of this product can
become very hot and cause burns. Particular
attention has to be given where children and
vulnerable people are present.
• The appliance must be connected to the
supply by the use of a device having a
contact separation in all poles that provides
full disconnection under overvoltage
category III conditions. The safety rules
in force in the country of use and the
regulations of the local electricity supplier
are to be observed.
• Never position this appliance immediately
underneath a power socket.
• The heater has to be installed at least 1,8m
above the floor.
• It must never be possible for people in the
bath tub or shower to reach the adjustment
knobs.
• The quartz heater must be mounted
horizontally on the wall. It must not
be used as a ceiling heater and must be
mounted on the wall in a horizontal
position (Fig. 2). Mount the quartz heater
only onto heatproof surfaces and never
on wood, plastic or other inflammable
surfaces. The minimum distance from the
ceiling, floor and walls must be observed
as described in Fig. 1. Do not operate the
quartz heater when it is not mounted, or if
it is not correctly, horizontally mounted on
the wall.
• For mounting in bathrooms the quartz
heater must be mounted in a location which
is inaccessible to people taking a shower
or bath. A safety distance of at least 60 cm
from wet areas such as showers, washbasins,
sinks, bathtubs etc. must be observed. A
distance of 120 cm from permanent water
output sources is compulsory. Under no
circumstances may the quartz heater be
installed in zones 0, 1 or 2, as shown in
Fig. 3.
• The local safety regulations of the region
must be observed during mounting.
• The quartz heater is equipped with a swivel
mechanism of 45°. Please make sure that the
boundary values are observed and that an
adequate distance of at least 100 cm from all
easily burnable materials such as furniture,
cushions, bedding, paper, clothing, curtains
etc. is maintained in the radiation area.
• The appliance is intended only for
use indoors, not for outdoor use or
commercial use.
• Do not use the appliance anywhere near
easily flammable gases or substances such
as solvents, lacquers, glues, etc. Some of
the internal parts can be hot and could
throw sparks.
• Keep flammable materials at least 100cm
away from the heater. To prevent burns, do
not allow bare skin to come in contact with
hot surfaces.

• If the supply cord is damaged, it must be
replaced by the manufacturer, its service
agent or similarly qualified persons in order
to avoid a hazard.
• Never touch the unit with wet hands.
• Check for any obstructions. If you find an
obstruction, turn off the heater using the
power button on the control panel. Allow
the heater to cool completely, then remove
the obstruction. Wait at least 10 minutes,
then turn on the heater and follow the
instructions for use.

FIRST TIME OF USE
1. Read through all the instructions before starting to use the
quartz heater.
2. Unpack the quartz heater and the supply cord. Remove all the
packing materials and dispose of them in an environmentally
friendly way.

WALL MOUNTING

1. In the switching unit (fuse box) switch off the power in the
room in which you wish to install the quartz heater.
2. Unscrew the cross-head screw at the top of the cover plate (6)
and remove the cover plate (6) from the controller (5) (Fig. 4).
Then take the panel with the switches out of the switch box.
3. The quartz heater can be mounted on the wall with the
controller (5) either on the left or on the right (Fig. 5).
Depending on which side the controller is to be, drill three
holes of 5 mm diameter in the wall. Observe the spacing as
shown in Fig. 6, or use the controller (5) itself or the included
stencil to mark the positions of the holes on the wall with a
pencil (Fig. 7).
