Adjustments.
Before any work on the machine itself, pull the mains
plug.
Adjusting the handle (figure 2).
The handle can be fastened in 3 different positions.
Loosen the handle.
Set the handle to your working position and retighten
it.
Adjusting the belt tracking (figure 3).
Switch the machine on and check the belt tracking.
If the belt does not run centred, loosen screw (8) and
turn nut (9) using a spanner (size 10 mm) to the right
or left, as required.
Replacing the grinding belt (figure 4).
Pivot lever (5) toward the right. The grinding belt is
now loose and can be removed.
Mount the new grinding belt. Pay attention that the
arrow directions on the inside of the grinding belt and
the housing of the power tool correspond.
Pivot lever (5) toward the left and check if the grinding
belt is positioned centrally. Check the belt tracking reg-
ularly.
Check the belt rollers for damage each time when
replacing a grinding belt. Replace damaged belt rollers.
Check the drive disc (12) and the contact disc (7) for
wear and damage each time when replacing a grinding
belt. Have damaged parts replaced.
Insulated gripping surfaces (figure 5).
Hold the power tool by the insulated gripping surfaces
(1), (2) and (14).
Replacing the spark guard
Loosen Nut 3 and remove the spark guard (4). Place the
new spark guard and tighten the nut (3).
Operating instructions.
Check the workpiece to be processed for con-
tamination or debris. Remove any foreign
objects before working.
Do not grind in the area of the drive disc (12).
Do not operate the power tool with
WARNING
wet or moist hands.
Switching on and off (figure 6).
The self-start lock prevents the belt grinder from auto-
matically restarting again, even after a brief interruption
of the power supply, e. g., from a pulled mains plug.
Switching on:
Press the On/Off switch (6) down at the grooved sur-
face and then push it forward.
Switching off:
Press the On/Off switch (6).
Adjusting the belt speed (figure 7).
The speed range can be variably adjusted.
Adjust the dial control (13) between "1" for the lowest
belt speed and "6" for the highest belt speed.
Repair and customer service.
When working metal under extreme oper-
ating conditions, it is possible for conductive
dust to settle in the interior of the power
tool. The total insulation of the power tool can be
impaired. Blow out the interior of the power tool via
the ventilation slots frequently with dry and oil-free
compressed air, and connect a residual current device
(RCD) on the line side.
Renew stickers and warning indications on the power
tool when aged and worn.
Products that have come into contact with asbestos
may not be sent in for repair. Dispose of products con-
taminated with asbestos according to the applicable
country-specific regulations for such disposal.
When the machine's power supply cord is damaged, it
must be replaced by the manufacturer or their repre-
sentative.
Use only original spare parts.
The current spares parts list for this power tool can be
found on our website at www.fein.com.
If required, you can change the following parts your-
self: Grinding belt (11), handles (1 + 2), spark guard (4)

with the legal regulations in the country where it is mar-
keted. In addition, FEIN also provides a guarantee in
accordance with the FEIN manufacturer's warranty dec-
laration.
