Descaling the Device
If the water only runs very slowly through the device or the device is louder than usual during
the brewing process, you should descale the device.
1. Pour the mixture of water and descaling agent into the water reservoir and switch on the
device. Consult the instructions for using the descaling agent with regard to the ratio of
water to descaling agent.
2. Let the mixture run through the machine completely. Repeat this procedure if the water
still runs through slowly.
3. After descaling, let water (without coffee) run through the device at least three times to
fl ush the pipes etc.
Troubleshooting
If the device is not working properly, please check fi rst of all whether you can rectify a problem
yourself. Otherwise you should contact customer service.
Do not attempt to repair a broken or damaged device yourself!

Is the mains plug correctly inserted into the socket?
Is the plug socket defective? Try another plug socket.
Check the fuse of your mains connection.
Is the device being used for the fi rst time? A smell often develops
when new devices are fi rst used. The smell should disappear after
you have used the device several times.
Have you previously descaled the coffee machine? Rinse it out
with clean water.
The fi lter holder and/or permanent fi lter is not positioned prop-
erly in the device.
The coffee jug or lid are not positioned properly.
There is too much coffee in the fi lter.
The discharge of the fi lter holder is dirty or damaged.
There is no water in the reservoir.
There is no coffee in the permanent fi lter.
The fi lter holder and/or permanent fi lter is not positioned prop-
erly in the device.
The jug is not positioned correctly.
The fi lter is clogged because the coffee has been too fi nely
ground or is too tightly packed.
The device needs to be descaled.
