TUNING YOUR KITE

POWER MANAGEMENT PRINCIPLES

You should not be riding with arms fully extended all the time and the kitebar all the way up as you
would then have no further way to depower the kite in a gust. To reduce the power from your kite
you need to shorten the front lines by one of the following ways:
• Pull on the trim rope next to the cleat to reduce the power at anytime.
• Extend the back lines.
If you need to increase the power of your kite, you need to shorten the back lines by one of the following ways:
• Ease the power trim line at the cleat to the desired position
• Shorten the back lines
CAUTION: be aware that changing the lengths of the lines has consequences on the
maneuverability of the kite.

TRIMMING THE BACK LINES

You have the possibility to adjust the length of the back lines by using the knots located underneath
the floaters. You can shorten or extend the lines to increase or reduce the power of the kite or to
re-balance the kitebar if the back lines have different lengths.

DIFFERENT THINGS TO DO WHEN YOU GET TO THE BEACH

• Closing the deflation valve:
When your kite is still rolled, you will find an opening at the centre of the trailing edge for deflating
your kite easily. Remember to close the Velcro before launching your kite. To do this, simply fold
the valve back into the inside of the kite, press the two edges together and slide your fingers
whilst tightening firmly.
• Unrolling your kite:
You must first determine the direction of the wind and then unroll your kite in the direction of the wind.
Put some sand on the wingtip towards the wind to hold it down.
• Checking the bridle:
It is time to unfold the bridle and check that there are no knots, no wrong routing or crossing especially
at the level of the pulleys and turbo lines. (kite depower system)
