Application
Power Output Module (POM) with 9 power outputs for
controlling resistive loads, busbar mounting and panel
mounting.

Safety guidelines
This device corresponds to the approvals printed on the
type plate. If you have questions about whether it is
permissible to install the device in the planned environment,
please contact your service representative.
WARNING
The product/system described in this documentation
may only be operated by personnel qualified for the
specific task in hand. Qualified personnel are those
who, based on their training and experience, are
capable of identifying risks and avoiding potential
hazards when working with these products/systems.
Alterations to the devices are not permitted. Failure to
observe these guidelines will void the approvals and
manufacturer's warranty.
Incorrectly performed repairs may result in substantial
damage to equipment or endanger the user. Return the
device to Siemens for repair.
The device may only be used in the control cabinet.

Dangerous voltages can be present on the busbar system.
Before work begins for mounting and connecting the
HCS4300 heating control system, therefore, the busbar
system must be isolated and secured against reclosing.

The line voltage to which the device is connected must
have a circuit breaker. The circuit breaker must be
easily accessible and uniquely assigned to the device.
It is advisable to locate the circuit breaker near to the
device. The maximum current consumption of the
heating control system must be taken into
consideration when selecting the circuit breaker.
Only use the device in circuits limited to 50 kA.
Only use 60/75 °C copper cables for the cabling.
NOTICE
Use only the prescribed fuse types. If you operate a
heating controller with unapproved fuses, the device could
be destroyed.
Busbar mounting
Adjusting the busbar adapter to the rail thickness (see Figs.
2 and 3)
Adjust the four fixing blocks of the busbar adapter to a rail
thickness of 5 mm (as supplied) or 10 mm, as required.
Mounting the Power Output Module (POM) (see Fig. 4)
1. Press the button
on the top of the busbar adapter.
The holder must protrude beyond the busbar adapter as
shown in the figure.
2. Place the busbar adapter on the busbar
down until it latches in place
Removing the Power Output Module (POM) (see Fig. 5)
1. Insert a screwdriver into the opening on the busbar
adapter
. The button on top of the busbar adapter
must snap upwards.
