Handling a Paper Jam
CAUTION:
Do not touch the print head. It may be very hot after printing. See Illustration
1. Open the printer cover and remove the jammed paper. Reload the roll paper
and close the cover.
2. If the jammed paper is stuck in the autocutter and the cover does not open,
raise the cutter cover. See Illustration L.
3. Turn the knob until you see a triangle in the opening. This returns the cutter
blade to the normal position. There is a label near the cutter to assist you. See
Illustration M.
4. Close the cutter cover.
5. Open the printer cover and remove the jammed paper.
Reading Magnetic Stripe Cards
If the MSR unit is installed, you can read magnetic stripe cards.
You can read the data in a magnetic stripe card by swiping the card through the
MSR unit as shown in Illustration N. Make sure the orientation of the magnetic
stripe card is correct before you swipe it.
Operating the Customer Display
Be sure that the power switch of the customer display is always on.
Adjusting the Direction
The poles of the customer display come in the L-shape type and the straight type.
See Illustration O.
You can change the direction and angle of the display of the customer display by
moving it slowly as you hold down the pole. Adjust the customer display to a
position easy for customers to view.
CAUTION:
Do not rotate the customer display with excessive force. Doing so may break
the customer display.
The mobile range of the display is as follows.
L-shape type

Arm rotation: Maximum angle of 270°

Display rotation: Maximum angle of 300°
Straight type

Display rotation: Maximum angle of 300°
Display tilt

Maximum angle of 48° (4 levels, 5 positions)
Operating the Key Lock key - 60 POS Keyboard Unit
A set of Key Lock keys is provided for the 60 POS keyboard. When the key position
is on OFF, no data can be entered. Each key can be given a different access range to
prevent use of higher functions by unauthorized users. See Illustration P.
