Powering On/Off the IR-700
Use the power switch to power on the IR-700. See A 11. To power it off, use the
shutdown function of the operation system of the IR-700.
You can also power on the IR-700 through the network.
The operation system of the IR-700 has a standby mode. The system can be set so
that the standby mode can be turned on and off with the power switch.
If you power off the unit, wait more than 10 seconds before you power it on again.
Notes:
Assign the functions to the power switch through the operating system or BIOS.
Be sure that the power switch of the customer display is always set to on.
Switch Cover
A switch cover comes with the IR-700 to prevent its power switch from being
pressed accidentally while the system is operating. Attach the switch cover on the
front cover, and push it firmly.
To operate the power switch when the switch cover is attached, pull the tab on the
right of the front cover and open the front cover.
Disable Switch for the Power Switch
Setting the disable switch for the power switch to ON disables power-off and
transition to the standby using the power switch. See Illustration B.
Follow the steps below to operate the disable switch for the power switch.
1.
Open the front panel forward.

Move the disable switch for the power switch with a pointed object such as a pen.
Note:
Use the power switch to power on the main unit and to return from the standby mode,
regardless of the setting of the disable switch for the power switch.
Forced Termination
If you cannot power off the IR-700 using applications or the operation system, you
can execute forced termination as a last resort. Keep pressing the power switch for
approximately 4 seconds until the IR-700 is powered off. Be careful; when forced
termination is executed, all unsaved data is lost.
Reset
Reset restarts the computer or the TM printer while their power is on.
CAUTION:
Do not press the system reset switch unless software application runaway occurs.
When the system is reset, all unsaved data is lost.
Pressing the system reset switch resets the entire system of the IR-700. Pressing the
TM-printer reset switch resets the dedicated TM printer. Follow the steps below to
reset the computer or printer.
