Apply the screwdriver (12) to the lifting rod (13)
from above and turn it by approx. 3–4 turns anti-
clockwise.
Insert the saw blade (9) into the lifting rod (13) per-
pendicular to the cutting direction.
Turn the saw blade (9) so that the teeth point in the
cutting direction. Pull the saw blade (9) downwards
slightly until it engages.
Make sure when inserting the saw blade that the back
of the saw blade is in the groove on the guide roller
(8).
Apply the screwdriver (12) to the lifting rod (13)
from above and turn it clockwise until the saw
blade (9) is fixed in place.
Check that the saw blade is seated securely. A loose
u
saw blade can fall out and lead to injuries.
To remove the saw blade, follow the steps above in reverse.
Anti-splinter guard (see figure B)
The anti-splinter guard (14) (accessory) can prevent splin-
tering of the surface while sawing wood. The anti-splinter
guard can only be used with certain saw blade types and only
at a cutting angle of 0°. When sawing with the anti-splinter
guard, the base plate (7) must not be moved to the rear for
sawing close to edges.
Push the anti-splinter guard (14) into the base plate (7)
from below.
Dust/Chip Extraction
Dust from materials such as lead-containing coatings, some
wood types, minerals and metal can be harmful to one's
health. Touching or breathing-in the dust can cause allergic
reactions and/or lead to respiratory infections of the user or
bystanders.
Certain dust, such as oak or beech dust, is considered carci-
nogenic, especially in connection with wood-treatment ad-
ditives (chromate, wood preservative). Materials containing
asbestos may only be worked by specialists.
– Provide for good ventilation of the working place.
– It is recommended to wear a P2 filter-class respirator.
Observe the relevant regulations in your country for the ma-
terials to be worked.
Avoid dust accumulation at the workplace. Dust can
u
easily ignite.
Operation
Products that are only sold in AUS and NZ: Use a resid-
u
ual current device (RCD) with a nominal residual current
of 30 mA or less.
Operating modes
Pull the plug out of the socket before carrying out any
u
work on the power tool.

Pendulum action settings
The pendulum action can be adjusted using four different
settings, allowing the cutting speed, cutting capacity and the
cut itself to be optimally adapted to the material that you
want to cut.
You can also adjust the pendulum action during operation
using the adjusting lever (6).
Level 0
No pendulum action
Level I
Low pendulum action
Level II
Moderate pendulum action
Level III
High pendulum action
The optimum pendulum level for each application can be de-
termined by a practical test. Note the following recommend-
ations:
– Select a lower pendulum level or switch off the pendulum
action completely if you wish to produce a finer or cleaner
cutting edge.
– Switch off the pendulum action when machining thin ma-
terials (e.g. sheets).
– Work on hard materials (e.g. steel) with low pendulum ac-
tion.
– You can work on soft materials and saw wood in the direc-
tion of the grain using maximum pendulum action.
Adjusting the mitre/bevel angle (see figure C)
The base plate (7) can be swivelled to the right or left to
make mitre cuts up to 45°.
The anti-splinter guard (14) cannot be used while mitre cuts
are being made.
– Remove the anti-splinter guard (14).
– Loosen the screw (16) and push the base plate (7)
slightly towards the saw blade (9).
– The base plate has lock-in points at 0° and 45° on the left
and right so that precise mitre/bevel angles can be set.
Swivel the base plate (7) to the desired position accord-
ing to the scale (15). Other mitre/bevel angles can be ad-
justed using a protractor.
– Then slide the base plate (7) all the way towards the
mains cable.
– Retighten the screw (16).
Moving the base plate (see figure D)
You can move the base plate (7) back for sawing close to
edges.
Fully unscrew the screw (16) using the hex key (4).
Lift up the base plate (7) and reposition it such that the
screw (16) can be screwed into the rear threaded hole (18).
Push the base plate (7) towards the positioning cam (17)
until it engages. Retighten the screw (16).
Sawing with an offset base plate (7) is only possible with a
mitre/bevel angle of 0°. In addition, the parallel guide with
circle cutter (21) (accessory) as well as the anti-splinter
guard (14) must not be used.
