X4 Minimum separation from the base of the pump
shaft = 1 m
– Use a rope to lower the pump into the well and to
lift it out again, never use the cable for this pur-
pose.
– If the depth is greater than 3 m, clip the connec-
tion cable to the rope at regular intervals, using
corrosion-resistant clips.
Note: If the connection cable is not
clamped, it can happen that the connection
cable jams the pump when it is being drawn
out.
– Tighten the end of the rope firmly after lowering.
Note: Do not operate the pump without
pressure hose. Avoid the pump rotating
around its longitudinal axis.
Electrical connection
DANGER! Danger of injury! Ensure that
the electrical connection unit does not come
into contact with water!

– Fix the electrical connection unit by means of
4 screws (8) in a location protected from
splashes. The connection cables (9) must point
downwards.
– Plug in the mains plug.

Operation

NOTICE! Risk of damage to the appli-
ance! The device does not switch itself off
automatically.
Damages may be caused if allowed to run
dry or dry hot, or when used continuously!
Do not allow the appliance to dry-run (mini-
mum water level: ► Technical data – p. 21).

Overload protection
The appliance is equipped with overload protection.
This switches the motor off if it is overloaded.
If the overload protection was triggered:
1. Eliminate the cause of the overload (► Malfunc-
tions and troubleshooting – p. 20).
Fault/malfunction
Cause
Pump does not run.
No mains voltage?
Motor overheats due to:
• liquid temperature too high?
• blocking by foreign bodies?
Pump runs but does not
Suction openings blocked?

Pump draws in air?
Pump blocked by foreign bodies?
Delivery rate too low.

Clean the appliance.
Cleaning the appliance externally
Rinse with clean water. Remove stubborn contamina-
tion with a brush and detergent.
Submerge the pump in a container with clean water
and switch on for a short time to rinse the inside of the
pump.
Note: Before using the pump again, first
"soak" it so that any possible dirt residues
do not block the appliance.

Storing

If there is a risk of frost, dismantle the appliance and
accessories, clean them and store in a place pro-
tected from frost.
NOTICE! Risk of damage to the appli-
ance! Frost destroys the appliance and
accessories, as these always contain water!

Malfunctions and troubleshooting

In the event of a malfunction...
DANGER! Danger of injury! Improperly
conducted repairs may prevent your appli-
ance from working safely. Such repairs will
endanger you and your surroundings.
Malfunctions are often caused by minor faults. You
can easily remedy most of these yourself. Please
consult the following table before contacting the ven-
dor. You will save yourself a lot of trouble and possibly
money too.
Remedy
Check cables, plug, socket and fuse.
Eliminate the cause of the overheating and al-
low the appliance to cool down (max. tempera-
ture of liquid: ► Technical data – p. 21). Actu-
ate the motor protection switch.
Rectify blockage.
Switch the pump on and off several times in or-
der to expel air.
Clean the pump.
Comply with maximum delivery height
(► Technical data – p. 21).
