Manual DCF reception attempt
• To perform a manual search for the DCF signal (e.g. if you have placed the radio wall clock in a
different location), press the SET button (2) for three seconds.
• This will start a manual reception attempt. Then, as described above, wait until the current time
is displayed.
• Press the SET button (2) again for three seconds to cancel the manual DCF reception attempt.
Manual settings
Manual setting of the time and date is only necessary when the radio wall clock is used
outside of the DCF reception range, if you want to display a different time zone other
than Germany, or if the DCF reception is disrupted due to environmental conditions.
The faster you turn the rotary control (1), the faster the settings will change.
If the settings were changed and after that DCF reception is again desired, a manual
DCF reception attempt (see above) must be made.
Calendar
• Press the SET button (2).
• The display for the year starts flashing.
• Set the year using the rotary control (1).
• Press the SET button (2) and set the month (MONTH) and day (DATE) using the rotary control (1).
The day of the week display is updated automatically.
• Press the SET button (2) to set the time.
Setting the time manually
• Set the time using the rotary control (1).
• Press the SET button (2) to set the time format.
Time format
• Set the time format (time display in 12h or 24h format) using the rotary control (1).
• Press the SET button (2) to activate automatic toggling between summer and winter time.
Toggling between summer and winter time automatically
• Set the function for toggling between summer and winter time automatically using the rotary
control (1).
ON = automatic toggling
OFF = non-automatic toggling
• Press the SET button (2) to set the time zone.
Time zone
• Set the desired time zone (+/-3 hours compared to German time zone) using the rotary control
(1).
• Press the SET button (2) to switch the DCF function on or off.
DCF function
• Activate the DCF function using the rotary control (1).
Radio tower = DCF time-synchronisation activated
Radio tower + OFF = DCF time-synchronisation deactivated
• Press the SET button (2) to save the settings and finish.
Troubleshooting
In purchasing the radio-controlled wall clock, you have acquired a product with state-of-the-art
design that is operationally reliable. Nevertheless, problems or faults may occur.
Therefore, we would like to describe here how to eliminate possible faults.
The clock does not synchronise or only has temporary reception:
• The distance to the DCF transmitter is too great or restricted by geographical conditions.
• Relocate the product; switch off interfering devices such as TV sets, computers or microwave
ovens.
• Avoid a location in the vicinity of large metal surfaces, which may shield the radio signals. Win-
dows with a vapour deposited metal layer can also influence the signal reception.
• Place the clock near a window for synchronisation, and align the front or back side in the direc-
tion of Frankfurt (Germany).
• Leave the clock switched on overnight to reduce atmospheric interference.
The display shows confused symbols or nothing is displayed at all:
• Press the RESET button (3) with a sharp object (e.g. a straightened paper clip). The built-in
microprocessor is reset and the clock goes back into DCF reception mode.
Maintenance and cleaning
The product does not require any maintenance and should never be disassembled for any reason.
Please use a soft, dry, clean cloth for cleaning.
Do not use aggressive detergents as these can cause discolouration of the case.
Do not press on the sensitive display surface.
Disposal
a) Product
Electronic devices are recyclable material and must not be disposed of in the house-
hold waste!
Please dispose of the product, when it is no longer of use, according to the current
statutory requirements.
Remove the batteries that may be inserted and dispose of them separately from the
product.
b) Batteries and rechargeable batteries
As the end user, you are required by law (Battery Regulation) to return used batteries and re-
chargeable batteries. Do not dispose of used batteries in the household waste!
Batteries/rechargeable batteries contain harmful materials and are labelled with the
symbol shown to indicate that disposal in the household waste is forbidden. The sym-
bols of the critical heavy metals are: Cd=cadmium, Hg=mercury, Pb=lead (marking can
be seen on the battery/rechargeable battery, e.g. underneath the refuse bin symbol
shown on the left).
You can return used (rechargeable) batteries free of charge at the official collection
points in your borough, our stores, or wherever (rechargeable) batteries are sold!
You thereby fulfil your statutory obligations and contribute to the protection of the environment.
