Special conditions
1. All national regulations governing installation and operation regulations are to be
observed when mounting this electrical device in an explosion hazardous area
(Cat. 3G).
2. Before switching on the device, ensure that the local power supply complies with the
range stated on the nameplate.
3. For operation in Cat. II3G, it is to be ensured that the maximum operating voltage as
listed on the nameplate is not exceeded by more than 40% during temporary power
supply fluctuations.
4. Repairs (e.g. changing the electronics module) may only be carried out when
circuits are not alive.
5. All technical data issued by the manufacturer are to be observed.
6. Use of the devices is restricted to mediums against which the process-wetted
materials are adequately resistant.
7. Do not plug in the service connector in the presence of explosive atmospheres.
8. Only cable entries are to be used which comply with Category 3G standards.
General warnings
Warning!
• Installation, connection to the electricity supply, commissioning and maintenance of
the devices must be carried out by qualified specialists trained to work on Ex-rated
devices.
• Compliance with national regulations relating to the installation of devices in potenti-
ally explosive atmospheres is mandatory, if such regulations exist.
• The manufacturer's guidelines for all devices connected to the intrinsically safe cir-
cuits must be observed.
• To rotate the transmitter housing, use the same procedure as for safe area versions.
The transmitter housing may also be rotated during operation.
• The temperature range for continued use shall be at least –40 °C to +10 °C above
ambient temperature.
