Patient Application
Visually inspect the ECG leadset (and SpO
before applying the patient cable to a patient.
• If any signs of damage or deterioration are seen, immediately discard the
patient cable following approved medical waste disposal methods
specified by local regulations or your patient care facility.
• If no visual damage is seen, apply the ECG leads to the patient following
standard AAMI or IEC practices (refer to the IntelliVue MX40
Instructions for Use).
• If the patient cable includes a SpO
instructions supplied in the IntelliVue MX40 Instructions for Use. If the
SpO
sensor is not being used, be sure to securely store the sensor inside

the telemetry pouch.
• Recommended SpO
