Thermo sensor EPT-D1

Intended Use
The product is a wireless outdoor sensor which can measure temperature and receive DCF
time signals. The sensor can transmit data to a weather station which will display the outdoor
temperature and automatically synchronize time and date.
This sensor is compatible with the weather station (Item no. 2139963). Refer to the weather
station operating instructions for further information about using it with this sensor.
The sensor has an ingress protection rating of IPX3 and is protected from splashing water at
any angle up to 60° against the front casing.
For safety and approval purposes, you must not rebuild and/or modify this product. If you use
the product for purposes other than those described above, the product may be damaged. In
addition, improper use can result in short circuits, fires, or other hazards. Read the instructions
carefully and store them in a safe place. Make this product available to third parties only
together with its operating instructions.

Read the operating instructions carefully and especially observe the safety

a) General Information
• Do not use this product in hospitals or near to medical equipment. Although
the sensor transmits relatively weak radio signals, they may cause life-support
systems to malfunction. This also applies to other equipment.
• The manufacturer shall not be responsible for inaccurate data measurements or
any resulting consequences.
• This product is designed for private use only; it is not intended for medical
purposes or for providing information to the general public.
• The device is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.
• Do not leave packaging material lying around carelessly. This may become
dangerous playing material for children.
• Protect the product from extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, strong jolts,
flammable gases, steam and solvents.
• Do not place the product under any mechanical stress.
• If it is no longer possible to operate the product safely, take it out of operation and
protect it from any accidental use. Safe operation can no longer be guaranteed
if the product:
- is visibly damaged,
- is no longer working properly,
- has been stored for extended periods in poor ambient conditions or
- has been subjected to any serious transport-related stresses.
• Please handle the product carefully. Jolts, impacts or a fall even from a low height
can damage the product.
• Consult an expert when in doubt about the operation, safety or connection of the
appliance.
• Maintenance, modifications and repairs must only be completed by a technician
or an authorised repair centre.
• If you have questions which remain unanswered by these operating instructions,
contact our technical support service or other technical personnel.
b) (Rechargeable) Batteries
• Correct polarity must be observed while inserting the (rechargeable) battery.
• The (rechargeable) batteries should be removed from the device if it is not used
for a long period of time to avoid damage through leaking. Leaking or damaged
(rechargeable) batteries might cause acid burns when in contact with skin,
therefore use suitable protective gloves to handle corrupted (rechargeable)
batteries.
• (Rechargeable) batteries must be kept out of reach of children. Do not leave
(rechargeable) batteries lying around, as there is risk, that children or pets swallow
them.
• All (rechargeable) batteries should be replaced at the same time. Mixing old and
new (rechargeable) batteries in the device can lead to (rechargeable) battery
leakage and device damage.
• (Rechargeable) batteries must not be dismantled, short-circuited or thrown into
fire. Never recharge nonrechargeable batteries. There is a risk of explosion!

Operation
The sensor needs to work with a compatible console (Item no. 2139963, sold separately).
a) Insert batteries
The sensor is powered by two type AA batteries (not included).
• Open the battery compartment (6), and insert two type AA batteries matching polarities as
shown inside the compartment, then close the battery compartment.
When the batteries are inserted, the LED indicator (1) will light up for two seconds
then go off. This indicates that the sensor is powered on.
• Replace the battery compartment cover.
b) Select a Channel
When using more than one sensor at a time (maximum 8), each sensor should be set to a
different channel.
Slide the channel selection switch (5) to a channel number position (1 to 8), then press the
button (3) to make the channel selection effective.
After changing a channel, you need to press the
batteries to make the channel selection effective.
c) Pairing
For the console to receive data transmitted from the sensor, the sensor should be paired with
the console.
• Make sure the sensor is powered on by inserting the battery.
• The sensor can automatically pair with your console if the sensor has the same channel
number as the console. Refer to the operating instructions of your console for detailed
setup.
• When the sensor is paired with your console, the signal reception strength symbol and
outdoor temperature reading are displayed on the console.
If the sensor is transmitting data to your console, the LED indicator (1) flashes once,
then off.
If you reset the sensor or change the batteries of the sensor, you need to initiate
signal searching on your console for auto re-pairing.
