power tool for operations different from those
intended could result in a hazardous situation.
Keep handles and grasping surfaces dry,
f
clean and free from oil and grease. Slippery
handles and grasping surfaces do not allow for
safe handling and control of the tool in unex-
pected situations.
SERVICE
Have your power tool serviced by an autho-
rized service and use only original spare parts.
This will ensure that the safety of the power tool
is maintained.
SAFETY WARNINGS FOR CIRCULAR SAWS
Do not use a damaged accessory. Before
f
each use, inspect the accessory such as
abrasive wheels for chips and cracks. After
inspecting and installing an accessory, posi-
tion yourself and bystanders away from the
plane of the rotating accessory and run the
power tool at maximum no-load speed for
one minute. Damaged accessories will normally
break apart during this test time.
The rated speed of the accessory must be at
f
least equal to the maximum speed marked
on the power tool. Accessories running faster
than their rated speed can break and fly apart.
Wear safety goggles.
f
Never leave the tool unattended before it
f
has come to a complete stop. Cutting tools
that are still running can cause injuries.
Store the power tool and accessories safely
f
when it is not in use. The storage location
must be dry and lockable. This prevents the
power tool from storage damage, and from be-
ing operated by untrained persons.
Check the cable regularly and have a dam-
f
aged cable repaired only by an authorized
customer service agent for FF Group power
tools. Replace damaged extension cables.
This will ensure that the safety of the power tool
is maintained.
Connect the tool to a mains supply that is
f
properly connected to earth. The socket and
extension cable must have a fully functioning
protective conductor.
Keep your work area clean. Material mixtures
f
are particularly hazardous. Light metal dust may
catch fire or explode.
ADDITIONAL SAFETY RULES FOR SAW BENCHES
Do not use saw blades with a body thickness
f
greater or a width of tooth smaller than the thick-
ness of the riving knife.
Make sure that the blade rotates in the correct
f
direction and that the teeth are pointing to the
front of the saw bench.
Be sure all clamp handles are tight before starting
f
any operation.
Be sure all blade and flanges are clean and the
f
recessed sides of the collar are against the blade.
Tighten the arbor nut securely.
Keep the saw blade sharp and properly set.
f
Make sure that the riving knife is adjusted to the
f
correct distance from the blade - maximum 5 mm.
Never operate the saw without the upper and
f
lower guards in place.
Keep your hands out of the path of the saw blade.
f
Disconnect the saw from the mains supply before
f
changing blades or carrying out maintenance.
Use a push stick at all times, and ensure that you
f
do not place hands closer than 150 mm from the
saw blade while cutting.
Do not attempt to operate on anything but the
f
designated voltage.
Do not apply lubricants to the blade when it is
f
running.
Do not reach around behind the saw blade.
f
Always keep the push stick in its place when not
f
in use.
Do not stand on top of the unit.
f
During transportation make sure that the upper
f
part of the saw blade is covered, e.g. by the guard.
Do not use the guard for handling or transporta-
f
tion.
Immediately replace the table insert when worn
f
or damaged.
Check that the workpiece is properly supported.
f
Always provide additional support for long work-
pieces.
Do not exert side pressure on the saw blade.
f
Never cut light alloy. The machine is not designed
f
for this application.
Do not use abrasive disc or diamond cutting
f
wheels
Rebating, slotting or grooving is not allowed.
f
In case of an accident or machine failure, immedi-
f
ately switch the machine off and pull the plug. Re-
port the failure and mark the machine in suitable
form which prevents that other persons use the
defective machine.
When the saw blade is blocked due to abnormal
f
feed force during cutting, ALWAYS switch the
machine off and disconnect from power supply.
Remove the workpiece and ensure that the saw
blade runs free. Turn the machine on and start a
new cutting operation with reduced feed force.
Pull the plug from the socket when blade change
f
or any maintenance is needed.
Wear always hear protection.
f
Wear always safety glasses
f
Wear always dust mask when sawing wood.
f
SAW BLADES
The max. allowable speed of the saw blade must
f
always be equal to or greater than the no-load
speed of the tool specified on the nameplate.
Do not use saw blades that do not conform to
f
the dimensions stated in the technical data. Do
not use any spacers to make a blade fit onto the
spindle.
Always choose a suitable saw blade for your ap-
f
plication.
Always wear gloves for handling saw blades and
f
rough material. Saw blades should be carried in a
holder wherever practicable.
