Power tool maintenance /
preventive measures
Before carrying out any works on the power tool it
must be disconnected from the mains.
Do not draw up the fastening elements
too tight to avoid damaging the thread.
It is required to replace the dull blades in
good time. In order to prevent unbalance
and vibration always replace both blades
at the same time. Use blades of the same
type. Never operate the power planer with only one
blade installed.
Be careful when replacing blades of the
power planer to prevent injuries from
blade edges. After replacement of blades
always rotate drum to make sure that it
has free running. Also check tightening of clamp-
ing bolts 21.
Resharpenable blades 25 may be resharpened.
When the blade edges become blunted resharpen-
able blades 25 should be dismantled, resharpened
by means of a special device. Then they should be
aligned and reinstalled on drum 26. Hereinafter re-
ferred to as "blades".
• Turn the power tool over and unscrew bolts 21 using
box wrench 16 (see fig. 8).
• Remove cover 22 and blade 25 assembled with ad-
justing plate 23
• Unscrew screws 24 and remove adjusting plate 23
from blade 25
• Clean all parts using a soft brush
• Sharpen blades 25 as described below
• Before installation of a new blade 25 make align-
ment using blade alignment fixture 15
• Place blade 25 on blade alignment fixture 15 (see
fig. 10.2). Attention: blade alignment fixture 15 has
factory setting and does not require any additional
adjustment.
• Align the cutting edge of blade 25 along the lug of
blade alignment fixture 15 Press the vertical part of
adjusting plate 23 to the vertical surface of blade align-
ment fixture 15 as shown in figure 10.2. Match the
holes in adjusting plate 23 with the holes in blade 25
moving adjusting plate 23 along blade alignment fix-
ture 15 Tighten screws 24 If the length of blade 25
is not sufficient for alignment due to multiple re-
sharpening both blades 25 must be replaced.
• Place blade 25 assembled with adjusting plate 23 on
drum 26 as shown in figure 10.3.
• Put a metal ruler to the side surfaces of base plates 1
and 9 and align the side part of blade 25 (see fig. 11).
• Place cover 22 and tighten bolts 21 using box
wrench 16 (see fig. 12).
• Repeat the above operations for the second blade 25
Sharpening of the resharpenable blades (see
fig. 10)
Always sharpen both blades 25 at the
same time and only using blade sharpen-
ing device 14, as this will ensure the right
sharpening angle.
The manufacturer reserves the possibility to introduce changes.
• Dismantle both blades 25 as described above
• Loosen winged nuts 31 and place both blades 25
into blade sharpening device 14 (see fig. 10.1). The
back parts of blades 25 must rest on stops of tem-
plate 28
• Tighten winged nuts 31 Heads of clamping bolts 27
and plate 29 shall securely fix both blades 25 pressing
them against template 28 to prevent their movement
Cutting edges of blades 25 shall be located in same
plane (see fig. 10.1).
• Sharpen both blades 25 at the wet hard-grained
grinding stone
• Finish both blades 25 at the wet fine-grained finish-
ing grinding stone It is also recommended to polish
cutting edge surfaces of blades 25 as this will ensure
best operational results
• Install both blades 25 as described above
Replacement of driving belt (see fig. 13)
• Unscrew housing screws 33 of protective casing 7
and remove it (see fig. 13).
• Remove the worn driving belt 32
• Clean the belt pulleys with a brush
• Place a new driving belt 32 onto the driving pulley
(smaller diameter) and than pull in on the driven pulley
(larger diameter) rotating drum
• Place protective casing 7 back and tighten
screws 33
Cleaning of the power tool
An indispensable condition for a safe long-term exploi-
tation of the power tool is to keep it clean Regularly
flush the power tool with compressed air thought the
ventilation slots 9
