approximately 500 gallons; however, filter cartridge
life will vary depending on usage and water
conditions. At a minimum you must change the
filter cartridge annually for best results. You should
change the filter cartridge as soon as possible if you
notice any change in flow, taste, color, or odor of the
water being filtered; these changes indicate that the
filter cartridge should be replaced. You should also
change the filter cartridge as soon as possible after
a boil water advisory has been lifted. When replacing
the filter cartridge, you must use Everpure filter
model V-500. Failure to use the filter model specified
voids all claims and warranties made in this manual.
The system no longer qualifies as NSF certified if you
fail to use the model number indicated.
NOTE: Read all instructions before replacing filter cartridge.
NOTE: Do not use petroleum jelly to lubricate the O-rings. It will
degrade the O-rings.
The rubber O-ring provides the water-tight seal

SANITIZATION PROCEDURE - THE EVERPURE
(EV9608-15)
C. Grasp the tip of the outlet tower (center, top of the cartridge
and pull out gently. The entire central plug with the long tube
attached will come out, leaving a hole.
D. Add about a teaspoon of laundry bleach (5.25% sodium
hypochlorite solution) to the empty flushing cartridge through
the hole in the top.
E. Lubricate O-ring with a high quality silicone lubricant. Replace
the central plug assembly and insert the flushing cartridge into
the installed head.
NOTE: Do not use petroleum jelly to lubricate the O-rings. It
will degrade the O-rings.
F. After inserting the flushing cartridge into the head and
opening the angle stop valve before the system, slowly open
the product water line and run water to drain until the smell
of chlorine is strong. Then immediately shut off the water
and wait a period of at least half an hour to allow adequate
disinfection time.
G. The water should then be run for five minutes to purge the
installation of chlorine.
H. Remove the flushing cartridge and insert a new Everpure V-500
filter cartridge.
I. Refer to Step 7. Install, Condition and Flush Filter Cartridge.
