Notes on the remote control system:
Switching the remote control address:
Virtually all modern Hi-Fi and video equipment can be
remote-controlled using an infra-red system. However, it
is an unfortunate fact that only a limited number of infra-
red codes is available, and a vast range of manufac-
turers uses them.
It often occurs that remote control system codes overlap,
especially if household devices made by different com-
panies are used together and two of them happen to
share the same remote control code. For example, you
may find that the Hi-Fi system responds to the remote
control handset supplied with your TV or video recorder.

If the amplifier is switched off, selecting a source device
switches the amplifier on and also selects the corresponding
source device.
Hi-Fi equipment offers a solution to this
problem, as the units can be switched to a different
remote control level using the RC 1 code converter.
The remote control level of the FM100R or F6a now has
to be set up to match the level of the Hi-Fi unit (see
remote control operating instructions).
