7.4.- Cold starting.
• TOP series SPS with the optional "Input polarity detector" (P).
Although these devices can be started up from cold "Cold Start function", they should never be operated
in this mode without first checking the input polarity. This is because there is a possibility that the input plug (1)
is connected to the network power point in inverted mode, which means that the SPS will be locked at the end
of autonomy.
• Although the unit may be operated in this mode, this is not recommended as it is necessary to take into
consideration the time required to start and shut down the computer, programs and files, compared to the
autonomy made available by the SPS.
8.- OPTICAL SIGNALS AND ACOUSTIC ALARMS.
8.1.- Optical signals.
• "Battery replacement " Led, red (a). This lights when the batteries are flat and have to be replaced.
• "Battery discharge" Led, amber (b). When alight, this shows that the SPS is supplying output power from the
batteries ("Autonomy" mode).
• "Line correct" led, green (c). This led lights if the input voltage lies within the expected range and the loads are therefore
supplied from the mains, except during the auto-test, when the batteries supply the loads even though this led is alight.
• "Voltage reducer" led, amber (d). This led lights when the stabilizer is correcting a high mains voltage situation. If the
input voltage exceeds the upper adjustment limit of the AVR, the led flashes and the inverter supplies output voltage.
• "Voltage elevator" led, amber (e). When the stabilizer corrects a low mains voltage situation, this led lights up. If the
input voltage is below the lower adjustment limit of the AVR, the led flashes and the inverter supplies output voltage.
• "Overload" led, red (f). This lights to indicate that the device is at the limit of its charge capacity.
- Moderate overload. LED (f) illuminated with permanent acoustic alarm. It will effect a shutdown at the output
after a few seconds and, after a few more seconds, will automatically start to supply an output voltage again.
This cycle will be repeated sequentially until the load connected to the SPS is reduced.
- High overload. LEDs (a), (b), (c), (d), (e) and (f) flashing with permanent acoustic alarm. It will effect a shutdown
at the output after a few seconds and, after a few more seconds, will automatically start to supply an output
voltage again. This cycle will be repeated sequentially until the load connected to the SPS is reduced.
- Overload inverter in «autonomy mode». The unit acts in the same way as in the on line mode whether the
overload is moderate or high.
• "Battery level" led bar, green (g). When this lights, it shows the battery charge level in a percentage as in table 1.
If the last led on the bar flashes, it indicates that 2 minutes remain at most until the end of autonomy and,
therefore, to SPS shutdown due to lack of power in the batteries.
• "Load level" led bar, green (h). This bar of leds shows the power absorbed by the loads in a percentage as in table 1.
