PRÜFUNG/WARTUNG
Die Prüfung ist mindestens einmal jährlich,
bei schweren Einsatzbedingungen in kürzeren
Abständen, von einem Sachkundigen vorzu-
nehmen. Die Prüfungen sind im Wesentlichen
Sicht- und Funktionsprüfungen, wobei der
Zustand von Bauteilen hinsichtlich Beschädi-
gung, Verschleiß, Korrosion oder sonstigen Ver-
änderungen beurteilt, sowie die Vollständig-
keit und Wirksamkeit der Sicherheitseinrich-
tungen festgestellt werden muss.
Reparaturen dürfen nur von Fachwerkstätten,
die Orginal TIGRIP Ersatzteile verwenden,
durchgeführt werden.
Die Prüfungen sind vom Betreiber
zu veranlassen.

INTRODUCTION
All users must read these operating
instructions carefully prior to the initial
operation. These instructions are intended to
acquaint the user with the product and enable
him to use it to the full extent of its intended
capabilities. The operating instructions contain
important information on how to handle the
product in a safe, correct and economic way.
Acting in accordance with these instructions
helps to avoid dangers, reduce repair cost and
down time and to increase the reliability and
lifetime of the product. Apart from the
operating instructions and the accident
prevention act valid for the respective country
and area where the product is used, also the
commonly accepted regulations for safe and
professional work must be adhered to.
CORRECT OPERATION
- The capacity indicated on the product is the
maximum safe working load (W.L.L.) that
may be lifted.
- Do not lift or transport loads while personnel
are in the danger zone.
- Do not allow personnel to pass under a
suspended load.
- A load must not be suspended or left un-
attended for a long period of time.
- The operator may not move the load until
he in convinced that the load is correctly
suspended.
- During positioning of the clamp, the operator
must ensure that neither the clamp, slings
or load pose a danger to himself or other
personnel.
- The clamp may only be used at ambient
temperatures between -40°C and + 100°C.
For extreme temperatures exceeding this
range, please contact the manufacturer.
- The accident prevention act and safety
regulations valid in the country of operation
are to be strictly adhered to at all times.
- If defects are found, stop using immediately.
- The clamp is to be used for lifting and
transporting single sheets of metal and steel
plates, rotating up to 180° (see Fig. 1).
- The clamps are suitable for all metal loads
that can be fully entered into the mouth of
the clamp and have a surface hardness up
to HRC 40.
- If longer sheets of metal or profiles are to be
transported, we recommend using two
clamps to prevent the load swinging.
The clamps can be used in combination with
a spreader beam.
- - - - - Always transport the load slowly and
carefully.
- Please note that when lowering the load, that
the crane hook does not press against the
grab. The weight of the hook could lead to
an unintensional opening of the grab.
INCORRECT OPERATION
- - - - - Do not exceed the rated lifting capacity
(W.L.L.)
- - - - - Do not tamper with lifting tackle.
- - - - - It is forbidden to use the clamp for
transporting personnel.
- - - - - When transporting loads ensure that the load
does not swing or come into contact other
objects (see Fig. 2).
- It is forbidden to apply side-pull forces to the
clamp (Fig. 3).
- - - - - Only one sheet or metal plate may be
transported at one time (Fig. 4).
- - - - - Always insert the load fully into the mouth of
the clamp (Fig. 5).
- - - - - Do not allow the clamp to fall from a great
height.
INSPECTION BEFORE INITIAL
OPERATION
A competent person must inspect each clamp
prior to its initial operation. The inspection is
visual and functional and shall establish that
the clamp is in a safe condition resp. that any
defects found can be corrected before
operation commences. A service engineer, a
representative of the manufacturer or the
supplier, can make the inspection although
the company can assign its own suitably
trained personnel.
INSPECTIONS BEFORE STARTING
WORK
- - - - - Ensure that the surface of the load, in the
location where the clamp is to be applied, is
free from grease, paint, contamination and
scale and is not coated, so that the teeth
resp. the protective lining on the moving jaw
can make good contact with the surface of
the load.
- - - - - Check the fixed jaw and the moving jaw for
wear and defects. Both jaws must have clean
profiles.
- Check the complete clamp for damage,
cracks or deformations.
- - - - - The clamp must move easily and freely.
- Check the spring. In the CLOSED position
these must present a noticeable spring
pressure force when lifting eye is depressed.
