Corrosive and Toxic Chemicals
Chemicals used with the instrument may be corrosive, caustic, and
toxic. Wear appropriate laboratory protective equipment, including
gloves and eye protective equipment, when working with those
chemicals in conjunction with the instrument. Wear protective
equipment when operating the instrument. Check regularly for
chemical leaks, which represent a potential safety hazard. Read the
warnings prominently displayed on the container labels of all hazardous
chemicals. Review all applicable MSDSs.
WARNING! Chemical Hazard. Wear protective equipment and
dispose of waste materials according to applicable regulations
and procedures. Chemicals and waste fluids may be hazardous.
Use and Storage of Hazardous Materials
When using or storing any hazardous materials, obey the following
safe-handling guidelines:

Use and store hazardous materials in accordance with the
applicable laboratory site regulations, supplier's
recommendations and federal, state, provincial, or local
regulations and laws.
•
Clean up spills immediately using the appropriate cleaning
methods.
•
Do not put open chemical containers near the instrument.
•
When preparing chemical solutions, always work in a fume hood
that is suitable for the chemicals you are using.
•
Store materials in an approved cabinet (with the appropriate
ventilation, as required) away from the instrument.
