5) Enter the lower limiting value with the
corresponding buttons.
6) Actuate the button "HOLD" again
twice, and the sensor temperature is
indicated again on the main display.
7) Switch on the warning mode with the
button "Hi/Lo LIMITS" (7). "LIMITS" is
indicated on the right side of the main
display. A repeated actuation of the
button "Hi/Lo LIMITS" will deactivate
the mode again.

5.5 Relative value measurement

Starting from a certain temperature, de-
viations occurring on the main display
(a) can be measured. The currrent tem-
perature or a value entered before can
be used as reference value.
5.5.1 Using the current temperature
as reference value
1) Actuate the button "REL" (6). The cur-
rent temperature serves as reference
value. The main display indicates
"0.0" and "REL".
2) If the temperature changes, the de-
viations from the reference value are
displayed.
3) Actuate the button "REL" again to de-
activate the relative value measure-
ment.
5.5.2 Entering a certain temperature
as reference value
If a certain temperature value is to serve
as a reference, this value must be
entered before. The relative value meas-
urement must not be activated yet.
Switch off this function by pressing the
button, "REL" (6), if required.
1) Press the button "SET" (12). The
main display (a) indicates
shows "REL SET".
2) For all buttons, now the marking
above the buttons applies so that the
reference value can be entered via
the corrresponding buttons. Always
enter a 4-digit value plus one digit
after the comma, e. g. 0021 7 for
21.7°. To enter a temperature in the
minus range, press the button "-0"
(4) after entering the numbers.
In case of input errors, press the but-
ton "HOLD" (9) so many times until
the main display indicates the sensor
temperature again. Then start the
input process once again.
3) After entering the reference tempera-
ture, press the button "HOLD" so
many times until the main display
indicates the sensor temperature
again.
4) To switch on the relative value
measurement, actuate the button
"REL" (6). The main display indicates
"0.0" and "REL".
5) To activate the reference value
entered for the measurement, press
the button "SET" (12). The deviations
from the reference value are now dis-
played.
6) Actuate the button "REL" once again
to deactivate the relative value meas-
urement.

5.6 "Freezing" a measured value

It is possible to "freeze" a measured
value on the main display (a), e. g. to ob-
tain a better readability of the value after
the sensor has been removed.
1) For "freezing" the measured value,
shortly press the button "HOLD" (9).
"HOLD" is indicated on the top of the
display.
2) As long as the measured value is
"frozen", no other measuring function
can be selected.
3) To deactivate this function, shortly ac-
tuate the button "HOLD" again.
5.7 Activating the display illumina-
tion
To obtain a better readability of the dis-
and
play in a dark environment, the display il-
lumination can be switched on with the
button
(13). For deactivating, shortly
actuate the button once again. The dis-
play illumination will automatically be ex-
tinguished after approx. one minute to
save the battery.
