Brake fluid tester BFT 320
Brake fluid tester BFT 320 is a high-quality and
precise measuring instrument for determining the
boiling point of glycol-based brake fluids (DOT 3,
DOT 4, and DOT 5.1).
Brake fluid tester BFT 320 permits measure-
ments in an equalising reservoir of the vehicle as
well as in the sampling container supplied. Power
(12 V – DC) is tapped from the vehicle battery.
The tester and printer are CE-approved.
Before using the instrument, the instruction
manual and safety features should be read thor-
oughly and adopted.
Safety instructions for using the instrument
 Improper use can mean great risk to the user,
the environment and can lead to damage to
the instrument. Our liability to damages will
cease in case of improper or incorrect use.
 Use the instrument only in a well-ventilated
area!
 Wear safety goggles when using the instrument!
 Only glycol-based brake fluids (DOT 3, DOT 4
and DOT 5.1) are approved.
 Certified for 12 Volts (DC) operating voltage.
 Never start the instrument in a dry state.
 After use, clean the instrument with a clean
piece of cloth and store in the original case.
 For cleaning, do not use: Compressed air,
solvents and cleaning agents of all types. If
necessary, rinse the sensor heads with fresh
brake fluid.
 Keep this instruction manual together with the
instrument.

Safety instructions about the brake fluid
 Do not swallow or drink the brake fluid! Strictly
avoid contact with eyes and skin. In emergen-
cy, immediately seek medical help and provide
instructions given on the container.
 Swallowing or drinking brake fluid will show
symptoms of poisoning such as headaches,
dizziness, stomach pains, and vomiting, loose
motions and in serious cases can lead to
cramps, unconsciousness or even death.
 Wash eyes thoroughly with abundant water
should the brake fluid fall in eyes. Seek eye
specialist's help once the eyes are thoroughly
washed.
 Wash skin thoroughly with abundant water
should the brake fluid fall on skin. Seek
doctor's help in case of skin irritation.
 Change soiled clothing immediately.
 Always store brake fluid in a closed and origi-
nal container. Brake fluid should not be acces-
sible to children and other persons who cannot
read the text printed on the container.
 Immediately wash painted surfaces coming in
contact with the brake fluid with clear water.
 Follow recommendations and guidelines of the
vehicle manufacturer when refilling brake fluid.
 Glyco0l-based brake fluid (DOT 3, DOT 4,
DOT 5.1) should not be mixed with mineral oil.
Mixing will lead to complete breakdown of the
brake system.
Contact your dealer for any query regarding
the instrument, guarantee or repairs.
