3. Adjustable pointers

3.3 Drag pointer

The drag pointer shows the maximum value reached by the process. During the measure-
ment, the drag pointer runs synchronously with the measured value pointer by means of a
rotation pin until a maximum value is reached. If the measured value pointer falls below the
maximum value, the drag pointer remains at the maximum value, as synchronisation by the
rotation pin only functions in one direction. The resetting of the drag pointer is achieved using
the adjustment lock in the window with the aid of the adjustment key.
CAUTION!
Risk of injury from incorrect operation!
Attempting to adjust the pointer without a suitable adjustment key or turning the
adjustment lock directly can lead to the damage of the window with sharp-edged
fractures. With filled instruments, the case filling can leak as a result of a broken
window.
Only carry out the pointer setting with the intended adjustment key.
CAUTION!
Damage to the instrument!
Forcibly setting the drag pointer against a resistance (e.g. measured value point-
er, pointer stop pin) can damage the drag pointer.
The setting of the drag pointer is carried out as follows:
Drag pointer
Measured value pointer
1. Unscrew the cover of the adjustment lock anticlockwise.
2. Carefully insert the adjustment key into the adjustment lock delivered with the instru-
ment. The square section of the adjustment key then fits perfectly into the adjustment
lock.
3. Carefully turn the adjustment key in the direction of the measured value pointer until the
drag pointer lies against the measured value pointer.
4. Withdraw the adjustment key and screw the cover of the adjustment lock tight again.
