8.2. FAN UNIT CLEANING INTERVALS

Technical assistance
• Phillips screwdriver
• vacuum cleaner
• brush
• cloth
• neutral cleaning product (soapy water)
We advise checking the ventilation unit and cleaning every six months, however the intervals must be
adapted to local conditions of use. We advise complete annual cleaning of the unit.
If the ventilation unit is out of use for a long period, we advise running the unit for an hour every six
months.
Clean the ventilation unit using a vacuum cleaner, brush, cloth and soapy water. Avoid using sharp
objects, aggressive chemicals, thinners, abrasive cleaning products, pressurised water, compressed air
or steam.
The fan wheel must not be dirty and it must be cleaned regularly (frequency to be adapted to the local
conditions of use), to prevent any drop in performance and any imbalance of the wheel which could
damage the motor bearings.
When cleaning, do not use a high-pressure jet or solvent. Cleaning must be performed without
removing or damaging the turbine.
Check that there is no noise coming from the turbine when it is restarted.
