INSTALLATION
Precautions
Prevention of interference
The EM Card reader frequency is 125 kHz. Installation
precautions are necessary. Make sure there are no strong
low-frequency electro-magnetic waves at the site of
installation, especially in the range of 100-200 kHz.
If there is more than one keypad with the same operation
frequency installed close by, make sure that they are at
least 60 cm (2 ft) apart from each other to prevent
interference.
Prevention of accidental short-circuits
Most damage caused during installation is a result of
accidentally touching the components on the circuit board
with live wires. Please study the manual to become
familiar with the specifications of the system before
starting installation.
Do not apply power to the keypad during installation.
Check carefully if all the wirings are correct before
applying power to the keypad.
Connection
Open the keypad by removing the HEX screw at the
bottom, and then the 4 screws that fix the keypad on the
base (see illustration below). Connect the Velbus bus
cable to the "- + L H" connector situated on the circuit
board at the back of the keypad. The keypad receives its
power supply from the bus cable (no need for additional
power supply). Then close and install the keypad.
