SMALL WOODTURNING LATHE
ASSEMBLING:
Speed: 6000 rpm (metal bars 2000).
Reinforce the connection U2/U1 with short
machine bed! Remove the slide screw from U9 (as
done with the woodturning lathe).
Work with new drive belt (used ones can stretch
too much and can therefore not be restretched suf-
ficiently).
WORKING:
With this assembling faceplate-turning is pos-
sible. The work piece (maximum diameter 6 mm)
is fixed with collets. Turning is therefore easier for
beginners because of the high rotating speed and
a smaller work piece.
AVOID:
Drive belt should not slip through !!
The chisel should not become too hot when turning
the cup inside.
WHAT TO DO IF...
Countershaft U2 turns irregularly or too
slowly: Let it warm up, check the tension of the
drive belt.
Drive belt cannot be tightened sufficiently:
Change it, perhaps turn headstock.
Wood keeps breaking off:
Change wood (tiny work pieces cannot be
made from quickly grown wood with rough fibres)
or sharpen the gouge.
MAINTENANCE:
As with the woodturning lathe, but change the
drive-belt more often (it can be used later with other
machines).

POSSIBILITIES:
Furniture models (legs of tables and chairs), doll´s
houses, ...
Small turning parts (spinning top, cups, goblets,
bottles,...).
You can also "turn" metal (2000 rpm)
Sanding: Fix the sanding disc U25 on to the
countershaft U2 and sand stationary (use the drilling
table as a working surface).
TECHNICAL DATA:
Fixation of workpiece with collets up to 6 mm,
then with three-jaw chuck, hollow spindle-axis (dia-
meter: 7 mm).
MATERIALS FOR PROCESSING:
Beech tree bars of 6 mm are used widely, as well
as nut-tree bars. From metal bars (4 – 6 mm, from
aluminium, copper and brass) you can make cups,
spinning tops and similar other things.
(Speed: 2000 rpm !).
