When working with the machine, always hold it

firmly with both hands and provide for a secure
stance. The power tool is guided more secure with
both hands.
Wait until the machine has come to a standstill
f
before placing it down.
Other persons and animals should remain at a dis-
f
tance of 3metres or more when the machine is being
used. The operator is responsible for third persons in
the working area.
Never grasp the blade of the hedgecutter.
f
Children or persons unfamiliar with these instruc-
f
tions must not operate the hedgecutter. Local regu-
lations may restrict the age of the operator.
Never cut a hedge while people, especially children
f
or pets, are nearby.
The user is responsible for accidents or hazards oc-
f
curring to other people or their property.
Do not operate the hedgecutter when barefoot or
f
wearing open sandals, always wear substantial foot-
wear and long trousers. The use of sturdy gloves,
non-skid footwear and safety glasses is recommend-
ed. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery which can
be caught in moving parts.
Thoroughly inspect the area where the hedge trim-
f
mer is to be used and remove all wires and other
foreign objects.
Prior to operation, check cutter blades, blade bolts
f
and cutter assembly for wear or damage. Do not
operate with a damaged or excessively worn cutting
device.
Check cable for damage before starting work and
f
replace if necessary. Keep cable away from heat, oil
and sharp edges.
Know how to stop the hedge trimmer quickly in an
f
emergency.
Cut a hedge only in daylight or in good artificial light.
f
Never operate the hedgecutter with defective
f
guards or without the guard in place.
Always ensure all handles and guards supplied are
f
fitted when using the hedgecutter. Never attempt
to use an incomplete hedgecutter or one with an un-
authorised modification.
Never hold the hedgecutter by the guard.

While operating the hedgecutter always be sure of a
f
safe and secure operating position at all times, espe-
cially when using steps or a ladder.
Always be aware of your surroundings and stay alert
f
for possible hazards that you may not hear whilst op-
erating the hedgecutter.
Remove the plug from the socket:

Before checking, clearing a blockage or working on
ƒ
the hedgecutter.
After striking a foreign object, inspect the
ƒ
hedgecutter for damage and make repairs as nec-
essary.
If the hedgecutter starts to vibrate abnormally
ƒ
check immediately.
Keep all nuts, bolts and screws tight to ensure that
f
the hedgecutter is always in a safe working condi-
tion.
The hedgecutter should be stored in a dry, high or
f
locked up place out of the reach of children.
Replace worn or damaged parts for safety.
f
Do not attempt to repair the machine unless you are
f
qualified to do so.
To safeguard against contact with the moving cut-
f
ter blade, this hedge trimmer is constructed with
two handles each with a blade control (switch). To
operate the hedge cutter, both controls must be
actuated simultaneously. Do not use the tool, if it
runs without a switch being actuated or just one
switch being actuated.
ELECTRICAL SAFETY
Warning! Switch off, remove plug from mains
before adjusting, cleaning or if cable is cut,
damaged or entangled.
The blades continue to move for a few sec-
onds after the hedgecutter is switched off.
Caution! Do not touch the moving blades.
Your machine is double insulated for safety and re-
quires no earth connection. The operating voltage is
230 V AC, 50 Hz (for non-EU countries 220 V, 240 V
as applicable). Only use approved extension cables.
Extension cords should only be used if they comply
with H05VV-F or H05RN-F types.
It is recommended for increased electrical safety to
use a Residual Current Device (RCD) with a tripping
current of not more than 30mA. Always check your
RCD every time you use it. Refer to the instruction
manual of the extension cord, lead, reel manufactur-
er and your local wiring regulations.
WARNING: For your safety, it is required that the
plug attached to the product is connected with the
extension cord. The coupling of the extension cord
must be protected against splash water, be made of
rubber or coated with rubber. The extension cord
must be used with a cable strain relief. The connec-
tion lead must be inspected for signs of damage at
regular intervals and may only be used if in perfect
condition.
MAINTENANCE
Always wear gardening gloves when handling or
f
working near the sharp blades.
Examine the machine and replace worn or damaged
f
parts for safety.
Always lubricate the cutting blade with protective
f
spray before storage.
Keep all nuts, bolts and screws tight to be sure that
f
the machine is in safe working condition.
SERVICE
Have your power tool serviced by a qualified
repair person using only identical replacement
parts. This will ensure that the safety of the power
tool is maintained.

HEDGE TRIMMER SAFETY WARNINGS

Keep all parts of the body away from the cutter
f
blade. Make sure the switch is off when clearing
jammed material. A moment of inattention while
operating the hedge trimmer may result in serious
personal injury.
Carry the hedge trimmer by the handle with the
f
cutter blade stopped. When transporting or
storing the hedge trimmer always fit the cutting
