6. PREPARING THE MACHINE

Ensure that the machine is disconnected
from the mains before carrying out any
preparation or maintenance work on it.
6.1 PREPARING THE TEMPLATE
When copying with special templates use only
bits of Ø 7.6 mm. Using bits with different
diametre will cause a bigger or smaller trim-
ming recess than the required dimensions.
Template D (Fig. 6) must be used for each type of hinge.
The same template is used to place the hinge on the frame
and door, for both right-opening doors and left-opening
doors. See the attached list for the standard template
models for FR129 VB.
Template D (Fig. 7) is simply pressed onto springs L (Fig.
7). The arrow on the template should coincide with the
instruction "RIGHT - DERECHA" (Fig. 6) on the side of the
base if the machine is being prepared for right-opening
doors, or doors with the instruction "LEFT - IZQUIERDA",
on the opposite side, for left-opening doors.
The recess can be made with the cutter and template guide
N (Fig. 7), delivered with the machine, following the entire
outline of the template.
For round-ended hinge wings, we recommend your using
a cutter bit with the same diameter as the width of the
wing and the template guide which corresponds to the
cutter bit. Thus, the fitting can be done in one go and with
greater speed. See the section on cutters bits and template
guides (Fig. 21).
6.2 FITTING THE CUTTER BIT
Make sure you place the chuck collet in
the correct position, otherwise vibrations
may occur or the part itself my come loose
(Fig. 22).
Unplug the machine from the electrical
outlet before carrying out any handling
operations.
First remove motor body 1 (Fig. 2) from base 2 (Fig. 3),
following the instructions in section 4 in reverse order to
fitting. Using service keys 7 and 8 (Fig. 8), change the cutter
bit if necessary, and also adjust outlet to 29 mm between
the end of the cutter bit and the bolt face. Make sure that
it is securely tightened.
If the cutter bit fitted is larger than 22 mm, it will not pass
through cover P (Fig. 7), and will have to be dismounted by
removing screws P1 (Fig. 7) which support it.
Finally, motor body 1 is fitted to base 2 (Fig. 3), as shown
in section 4.
6.3 PREPARING THE DISTRIBUTOR TUBE
Hinge distributor tube K (Fig. 3) must be mounted on con-
nector 1 as shown in (Fig. 3), and the corresponding drill
hole at the height of the frame in which hinges 211, 203,
or 191 cm are going to be fitted.
At the opposite end of tube K (Fig. 3), place reference stop
M (Fig. 3) in the corresponding drill hole for the length of
hinge to be fitted, or in the nearest if it does not correspond
with that of those marked.
7. FITTING HINGES WITH TEMPLATE ON RIGHT-
HAND DOORS
7.1 FITTING HINGES TO THE FRAME
Make sure that mounting or regulation of the cutter bit,
template and the preparation of the distributor tube, explai-
ned in section 6, have been completed before continuing.
POSITIONING THE MACHINE FOR THE FIRST RECESS
Loosen levers S (Fig. 9). Place the machine (Fig. 9) over
the rebate of the frame, turning the indicator "MARCO
DERECHO" MD (RIGHT FRAME) (Fig. 9 and 5) towards the
upper part of it.
Move the machine sideways to the end of the frame rebate
and upwards until support H (Fig. 9) touches the bottom of
the rebate in the crossbeam of the frame.
Tighten the clamp vises over the thick part of the doorframe
by means of crank handles F (Fig. 9).
Move router base 2 (Fig. 9) along the width of the rebate
until the template and its support are fully fitted to interior
face T (Fig. 9) of the rebate on the frame. Secure the machine
in this position using levers S (Fig. 9).
AJUSTING THE DEPTH OF THE RECESS
Once the machine is positioned for carrying out the first
rebate, push the motor body towards the frame until the
cutter bit is touching the wood. Lock it into this position
with knob U (Fig. 9).
Place the hinge between head V and nut W (Fig. 10). Adjust
the width of the hinge with this bolt. Remove the hinge
and release knob U (Fig. 9).
For this action you must first release the primary trigger
stop pressing on this.
STARTING UP THE MACHINE
To start the machine, press button X forward (Fig. 8) to the
on position. To stop the machine, simply press the back of
the switch and it will return to the off position.
ROUTING THE FIRST RECESS
Connect the machine to the mains. Push safety button X
(Fig. 8), and press the switch to start the machine.
By gradually pushing motor body 1 (Fig. 9), the cutter bit
will make an incision on the frame to the depth of the
previously adjusted hinge. Secure the machine at this depth
with knob U (Fig. 9).
Next, move the motor body lengthways and sideways,
following the outline of the template to obtain a recess
