Setting up

2.3.1 Powering

The TE 900 receiver is powered with 2 normal 1.5 V batteries or rechargeable batteries of the
AA-size. If you use conventional batteries, please use high-quality alkaline batteries. If you use
rechargeable batteries, please use Ni-MH rechargeable batteries that are free from memory effect. If
the TE 900 is powered with alkaline batteries, the operating time is approx. 10 hours. If the battery
voltage drops below 2 volts, the power indicator (3) is illuminated red to indicate the decreasing
capacity. If the battery voltage drops below 1.7 volts, the receiver is switched off automatically to
avoid over-discharge or leakage.

2.3.2 How to replace the Batteries

1. Push down the two snap locks on the right and left hand side of the battery compartment and
open it. Remove the batteries.
2. Insert two new 1.5 volt batteries (AA) into the battery compartment observing polarity markings.
Then close the battery compartment again.
