3.2
Polimask 230 e Polimask 2000 γ
These models of halfmask are equipped with a threaded connector (complete with gasket and inhalation valve) for use
with a SEKUR series 230 filter.
3.3
Polimask 330 e Polimask 2000 α
These models of halfmasks are equipped with threaded connector conforming to EN 148/1 Norm. As a result, all the
following filters can be used with:
1. Filters conforming to EN 14387 and EN 143 with a maximum weight of 300 g. (DIRIN 230 and DIRIN 300 series)
2. Compressed air line breathing apparatuses conforming to EN 139 permanently installed air line systems.
3. Fresh air hose breathing apparatuses.
4. Powered respirators, only if they are made up of mask, power unit and filters, which have been appropriately tested
and certified in compliance with the EN norms in force.
5. By using a connector (reference number 4338.3220), the halfmasks can be also used with 230 series, gas, particle
and combined filters.

4 Limitations for use

The use of POLIMASK halfmasks in combination with filters is allowed only according to the following conditions:
4.1

With gas filters

The use of POLIMASK halfmasks in combination with gas filters is allowed only up to a concentration of contaminant
which is equal to 30 times the threshold limit values (TLV). On condition that it is not used in presence of gas
concentrations higher than those which have been set for gas filters (see instructions for use of filters). The use of
POLIMASK half masks is allowed with gas filter of class 1 and 2.

With particle filters

For the use of particle filters with POLIMASK, the following multiples of the threshold limit values (TLV) are equal to the
maximum concentration of contaminant permitted in the ambient atmosphere. For higher concentrations of toxic
particles use full-face masks. if necessary use isolating breathing apparatuses.

With combined filter

When using the combined filters, both the limitations for use above indicated are to be observed. The threshold limit
values, indicated in the table, equal to the highest concentration of toxic substance (gas or dusts) permitted in the
surrounding environment.

5 Condition of use

POLIMASK halfmasks connected to a filter can be used when:
The concentration of oxygen in the atmosphere is at least 18% per volume
The type, characteristics and concentrations of the pollutants are known and the toxic substance is not odourless
and tasteless
The instructions for use are sufficiently known
Users of respiratory protective devices are in good health and fully trained in the use of this kind of equipment.
Users must are beardless, without sideboards, moustaches or deep scars on their skin near the facepiece seal of the
mask itself, because this could impede adequate seal tightness on the face.
Filtering respirators cannot be used when:
the composition of the ambient atmosphere can be altered negatively (for example, in confined spaces such as
cisterns, conduits, etc).
there are oxygen enriched atmospheres or in potentially explosive areas.
the contaminants can generate high heat in a chemical reaction with the cartridge absorbent material.
