INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Turn on Press and hold Power On. Two chirps will sound, then release. The in-service tone sounds and the handset is in
standby mode.
Turn off Press and hold Power Off. One chirp will sound. If in a call, hang up first, then turn off.
Make a call or go Press Start Call to go off hook and then dial the number. For pre-dialing from standby mode, dial the number first
off hook
then press Start Call.
Select line If multiple lines are available, press LINE and the number key corresponding to the desired line.
Dial number Press number keys.
Hang up Press End Call. Be sure to do this at the end of each call.
Answer call Press Start Call.
Headset answer
Press Start Call or the 0-9, * or # key to answer a call when a headset is plugged in.
Unlock keypad Press the Unlk softkey, then #.
Lock keypad Press FCN, then Select to activate Lock Keys on the Standby menu.
Change volume While in a call, press the Up or Down button.
Silence while ringing Press the End Call key to silence the ring.
View Shortcut menu* Press MENU while off hook to scroll through the Shortcut menu. Press Up or Down to highlight option, then press
Select to activate the feature. Press any shortcut key at any time while in the Shortcut Menu to activate feature.
No shortcut indicates that the feature can only be accessed using a softkey. Press corresponding softkey to acti-
vate. To cancel out of Shortcut Menu and return to Main display press MENU.
Shortcut keys The Shortcut keys are displayed beside the feature on the Shortcut Menu. Press any shortcut key at any time
while in the Shortcut menu to activate feature. No shortcut indicates that the feature can only be accessed using
a softkey.
View softkey Press FCN while off hook to scroll through the softkey functions. Press FCN again to scroll to the next set of
functions*
options. Repeat as required. Press corresponding softkey to activate feature. Shortcut keys may also be used.
Standby menu Press the FCN key while in Standby mode (handset on but not in a call). Press Up or Down to highlight option,
then press Select to select the option.
Language (If available) From Standby menu select language from list.
Ring Options From Standby menu adjust ring tones, ring volume (MIPT 600 only), ring cadence and set vibrate options.
Phone Options From Standby menu adjust noise mode for background noise, key tones, warning tones, display contrast and key-
pad autolock.
Push-to-talk (If available) From Standby menu select Push-to-talk to enable push-to-talk and select push-to-talk channel. Press
(MIPT 600 only)
and hold the push-to-talk button while speaking into the microphone to broadcast on the selected channel.
Backlight Comes on when any key is pressed. Turns off after ten seconds if no key is pressed.
MIPT 300 Press down on the latch on the Battery Pack on the back of the MIPT. The Battery Pack releases outward. To

replace the Battery Pack, slide the lip of the Battery Pack into the bottom of the cavity. Push the top of the Battery

Pack until it snaps into place. You should not have to force it against the MIPT.
MIPT 600 To remove the Battery Pack, hold handset in one hand with the keypad facing up. Press both battery release but-

Battery Packs are not interchangeable between MIPT 300 and MIPT 600.

* In certain systems the softkeys and the MENU key are unavailable. In such environments, press the FCN key
while off-hook to scroll through system features. Press the Shortcut key to activate the feature.
Status/Tone Indicators
No service message An alarm may sound and a descriptive message displays when the MIPT cannot receive or place calls. You
may be outside of the covered area. Walk back into the covered area. The in-service tone indicates service is
re-established.
The signal strength icon indicates the strength of the signal and can assist the user in determining if the MIPT is
moving out of range.
The battery icon indicates the amount of charge remaining in the Battery Pack. When the empty battery displays,
a beep may sound to indicate the Battery Pack charge is low. You have two minutes to change the Battery Pack
before losing power
The download icon displays when the MIPT is receiving software over the air.
Changes or modifications not expressly approved by Alcatel could void the user's authority to operate the equipment.

The only authorized headsets that may be utilized with Mobiles IPTouch 300 or IPTouch 600 are those obtainable from Alcatel or its reseller
