4.2 Connecting the DMX light controller
The unit may be operated via a universal light con-
troller with DMX512 protocol (e. g. DMX-1440 or
DMX-510USB by "img Stage Line") or via the com-
pact LED-4MC.
For the DMX connection, 3-pole XLR jacks with
the following contact configuration are available:
Pin 1 = ground, 2 = DMX-, 3 = DMX+
For connection, special cables for high data flow
should be used. Standard microphone cables with
screening and a minimum cross section of 2 ×
0.22 mm
2
and with a capacity as low as possible
can only be recommended for a total cable length
of up to 100 m. For cable lengths exceeding 150 m
it is recommended to insert a DMX level matching
amplifier (e. g. SR-103DMX from "img Stage Line").
1) Connect the DMX input (4) to the DMX output of
the light controller.
2) Connect the DMX output (5) to the DMX input of
the following light effect unit; connect its output
again to the input of the following unit, etc. until
all light effect units have been connected in a
chain.
3) Terminate the DMX output of the last DMX unit
in the chain with a 120 Ω resistor (> 0.3 W): Con-
nect a corresponding terminating plug (e. g.
DLT-123 from "img Stage Line") to the jack.
To be able to operate the LED light bar with the light
controller, a DMX address range has to be
assigned to the light bar and its DMX start address
has to be adjusted accordingly (
4.3 Combining several RGBL-110DMX units
If several RGBL-110DMX units are used, it is also
possible to operate them in sync without controller.
In this case the first unit (master) controls the
remaining units (slaves).
Connect the units as described in chapter 4.2.
Afterwards the units have to be configured
according to their respective function (master /
slave) [
chapter 5.1.4].

4.4 Power supply

Connect the supplied mains cable to the mains jack
(2) first and then to a socket (230 V~ / 50 Hz). Then
the unit is ready for operation. To switch off, dis-
connect the mains plug from the socket.
chapter 5.2).
WARNING Never look directly into the LEDs;
this may cause eye damage.
Please note that fast changes in
lighting, e. g. flashing light, may trig-
ger epileptic seizures with photosen-
sitive persons or persons with
epilepsy!
Caution: The unit must not be connected to the
mains voltage via a dimmer!
For a more convenient operation it is recom-
mended to connect the unit to a socket which can
be switched on and off via a light switch.
Via the power supply jack (3) further units may be
supplied with power if the total load of all connected
units does not exceed 8 A.
When using e. g. several RGBL-110DMX units,
the mains output jack (3) of the first unit may be
connected via a mains cable to a 3-pin IEC plug
and 3-pin IEC inline jack (e. g. AAC-170 / SW from
the product range of "img Stage Line") to the mains
input jack (2) of the second unit. The second unit
may again be connected to the third unit etc. until
all units have been connected in a chain. Thus, a
maximum of 41 units of type RGBL-110DMX may
be interconnected. Then the 42
an individual mains connection.
5 Operation
After switching on the power supply, the LED light
bar is automatically in the last operating mode
selected.
To change the operating mode, press the button
MODE (6) so many times until the desired operat-
ing mode is shown on the display (8).
5.1 Operation without controller
For operation without controller the unit features
three operating modes (
Hint: These operating modes cannot be selected as long
as a DMX control signal is present at the input.
5.1.1 Mode "Auto"

Various running light functions and stroboscope
functions in several colour versions may be
selected with the buttons UP and DOWN (7):
