Cleaning the Filters
WARNING: Do not use any detergents or boiling
!
water to wash the filters. Vax reccommends
washing the filters when they become discoloured, and
replacing them when they become heavily clogged or
damaged.
Cleaning the HEPA Pre-motor Filter (only applies to the
bagless unit).
Remove the dirt container as previously directed.
Remove ther filter by pressing in the two filter release
catches on the side of the filter (Fig6/6).

Tap the filter against the side of a rubbish bin to remove
excess dirt. Rinse the HEPA pre-motor filter in luke warm
water (max 40°C) allow to air dry for at least 24 hours
before replacing back on the dirt container (Fig 6/7).

Cleaning the Fibre Pre-motor Filter
Turn off the vacuum cleaner and unplug from the electrical
outlet. Lift up the top cover to gain access to the dirt
container compartment.
Lift out the pre-motor filter frame (Fig 6/8) and remove
the fibre filter from the frame.

The filter may be cleaned by rinsing in luke warm water
(max 40 deg). And allow to air dry for at least 24 hours
before replacing back into the unit (Fig 6/9). If the filter
becomes heavily clogged, discoloured or damaged it must
then be replaced.

Return the pre-motor filter to the frame and replace back
in the vacuum cleaner.
Cleaning the HEPA Post-motor Filter
NOTE: This only applies if using the unit as a bagless
vacuum cleaner.
Turn off the vacuum cleaner and unplug from the electrical
outlet. Lift up the top cover to gain access to the HEPA
post-motor filter. Pull on the tab to remove the filter from
vaccum cleaner (Fig 6/10).
