6 Hygiene preparation

Important:
When cleaning the equip­
ment, do not use any clea­
ning product that contains
alcohol. Fire hazard!
To fasten the OMNIVAC secretion pump into the case
bottom, use the holder for the OMNIVAC (23). Click the
holder into the case bottom as shown in the illustration.
If the distance between the case and the patient is too
great, it may be necessary to remove the collection con-
tainer from the holder and take advantage of the length
of the extension hose.
Important
Always hold the collection container upright. You can
prevent activation of the overflow protection and thus
avoid interrupting suction activity.
Clean the inside and outside of the case simply by wiping
with disinfectant. Recommended disinfectant:

• terralin protect. See also the instructions for use for
the disinfectant used. It is recommended that suitable
gloves (e.g. household or disposable gloves) are used
for disinfecting.
Take all the devices and materials out of the case.
If your case is equipped with an oxygen cylinder, the ex-
ternal fittings have to be cleaned. For this purpose, use a
clean, dry cloth or a cloth slightly dampened with water.
