12. SOLUTIONS TO POSSIBLE ANOMALIES

A.
ANOMALY
A. General problems and some indicators do not turn on.
C. The transmodulator has not been correctly programmed.
S. Check the data used to program the transmodulator in the OSD. Or
perform a reading of the data stored in the transmodulator to ensure
data transmission took place correctly. To do so, press the F and READ
keys on the PS programmer.
A. COFDM INPUT (21) channel hook-up indicator does not turn on.
C. Deficient quality or level of the input signal received.
S. Check the quality of the input signal on OSD or measure the BER (Bit
Error Rate) with a field meter for COFDM digital signals at signal output
(20) of the last transmodulator of the demixing stage. BER as measured
at input must be less than 2E-2. Check that the input signal level is within
the limits specified in the technical datasheet (34).
A. All the indicators are on, but the image is frozen or black.
C. Deficient quality or level of the input signal received.

A. The 'correct MPEG transmodulation' indicator (26) does not turn on.
C. The MPEG transmodulation stage does not receive any COFDM signal.
S. Check that IN hook-up indicator (21) of COFDM channel is on.
A. The output channel indicator OUT (27) does not turn on.
C. The converter does not work properly.
S. Check the transmodulator supply voltages.
A. On 16:9 format televisions the image is squeezed between horizontal
black bands above and below it.
C. The broadcast is in 16:9 but the programmed output format is incorrect.
S. In the output format menu, change from 4:3 mode to 16:9.
A. On 4:3 format televisions the image is stretched vertically.
C. The broadcast is in 16:9 but the programmed output format is incorrect.
