Gas Connections

This procedure must be performed by qualifi ed personnel, in accordance with the requirements of F-Gas Regulation.
- The internal unit to external unit connection pipes must be installed without
unnecessary turns and bends or traps for oil
- Pipes must have the proper lenght: minimum (5 m), maximum with no additional gas
amount (20 m), maximum with an additional amount of gas charged (30 m)
- Pipes must be correctly fl ared
1
- Air must be evacuated from the connecting pipes by using a vacuum pump
(vacuum must be maintained for at least 5 minutes)
- Flare valves must be reopened in order to let the gas fulfi ll the entire
system properly
- Gas leaks identifi ed by using a leak detector and solved
- In case of pipes longer than 20 m, an additional amount of gas must be charged
- follow the procedure described on the installation manual
- Operation tested by measuring the temperature of the gas pipe
(it must be 1 to 8 °C over the temperature read on the evaporation temperature
2
section of the pressure gauge)
- The following test must also be passed in case of additional gas charging:
check the stability oft he pressure by connecting the pressure gauge assembly to the
three-way valve service valve; open the three-way valve fully, turn on the device and
check for refrigerant leaks by means of a leak detector
- If the external temperature is below 5 °C, perform the triple evacuation procedure
3
described in the installation manual
4
- Pipes ends must be sealed in case the installation is resumed in a second step

Hydraulic Connections

- There must not be connections between chemically incompatible materials
- Check the fi lling pressure of the water system (recommended = 1.2 bar.
Water circuit pressure must never exceed 3 bar)
- Check the tightness oft he system
- Check that the expansion vessel is correctly dimensioned for the installation
and its precharge is 1 bar
- Minimum water content of the system must be guaranteed
1
- The heating/cooling circuit and the pipes to fi ll the installation must be correctly
connected to the internal unit
(direction, tightness of the gaskets, absence of water losses...)
- The drain of the safety valve and of the manual bleed nipples must be correctly
connected with silicon pipes
- In case of under-fl oor installation, install a safety device on the heating
delivery circuit
- Check if the system is installed like planned. Check and evaluate deviations
