3. CHARGING
Connected to power supply and the battery, the charger will automatically enter into
charging status, it is working on slow charging stage by default. The slow charge icon
will illuminate, and the charger is automatically detecting the battery. This is the standard
charging mode and as soon as the MODE button is pressed, you can select the desired
charging mode, the charger switches immediately between the different charging mode
If you require an alternative selection, proceed as follows:
1. Step 1 – Connect the charger to power supply.
2. Step 2 – Select the desired mode by pressing the mode key:
"STD/SLOW" Mode
"STD/FAST" Mode
"AGM/DEEP/FAST" Mode for fast charging a AGM or Deep 12V battery
"Recondition" Mode
"Power supply" Mode
SLOW
FAST
NORMAL indicates a common Maintenance Free battery, E.g. Gel Cell, AGM
& etc.
DEEP indicates a common lead acid battery or calcium battery.
3. Step 3 – Connect the battery to start charging automatically
4. Step 4 – Charging is completed. Disconnect clip and then the power supply
to the charger.
4. WHEN CHARGING IS COMPLETE
When the Stage 8 icon
charged. The battery charger now switches to the Float mode and doesn't require
your attention until the next time it is used, it will automatically maintain your battery.
If LCD stage 9 icon
maintained your battery.
Switch off the mains supply, unplug the charger, and disconnect the leads from the
battery posts. NOT to be done for permanently sealed battery: Inspect the liquid
levels in each cell and top up. If necessary, using the correct fluid. Replace the caps.
Any surplus fluid around the cell tops should be wiped off (this should be done with
extreme care as it may be acidic/corrosive).
Where appropriate, if the battery has been removed for charging, replace it and
reconnect the cables.
5. BATTERY FAULT
A few seconds after switching on to the operating mode, the FAIL LED indicator, and
LCD Fail icon will illuminate if the following occurs:
A. Battery voltage > 15 V
B. Softstart charging voltage between 5-8V after 1 minute and 8-10V after 9 hours
charging (to detect improper battery type, such as 6V or 24V, the charger is applica-
ble for 12V battery ONLY)
for slow charging a Normal or Gel 12V battery
for fast charging a Normal or Gel 12V battery
for Recondition a 12V Normal or AGM or Deep battery
if you want the charge to provide 13.8V only
